Great product, easy to setup and straightforward. It does have an OBD-II port, and is a little thick but software updates and simple and tech support is helpful. The difference between level 2 to level 4 is obvious and having a k&n 77 series as well as Magnaflow exhaust helps, I notice the low level RPMs are much smoother, especially when that extra passing power is needed.

I have enjoyed everything about the evolution programmer. From how easy it was to install to how simple but sharp the design is. I would suggest to everyone this is a top notch buy.

The Edge CTS installation was simple and the additional mount made the unit look like it came from the factory. I programmed the unit for economy and it now runs like a fine tuned machine. This truck runs like it did when it was new. I also reset for towing and it was fantastic smooth performance. This unit is well worth the cost. Do not let the dealer tune your truck. Mine never ran well after the first visit. Each new tuning option takes approx. 6 min with the engine off.

This is a great programmer, the only complaint I have is that it takes a very long time to change power setting. I knew buying it that it is not a change on the fly which is fine for me cause I only use towing, but it takes 5 minutes to change settings which I thought was alot. I like the touch screen and the program setting. A great product to give me the power I wanted and the gauges I needed in one package.

This tuner is great, I bought it for the better gas mileage. All of the tunes are wildly impressive with unleashed power but the mileage just isn't there. Once I got over having all the power I drove like I did before and on the economy setting and actually lost 2 mpg.

I order multiple parts for my truck and installed them in phases to see what gave me the best bang for the buck. Unless you want to added gauges and fancy screen, this does not seem worth the money. I had bigger gains from my new MBRP exhaust and switching to synthetic oil. I hope towing with it will show an improvement????

If you already have a cold air intake and a magnaflow exhaust system installed, would this be considered a highly modified vehicle and require a custom tune.

I keep reading about custom tunes and I want to know if the tunes in thte edge CTS really are considered custom?
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 29, 2012 8:24 AM
Custom is a relative term, and these tunes are custom in the sense that they are different from the stock tune and written specifically your year, make and model vehicle. But, they are still written for the unmodified version of your vehicle. For a highly modified vehicle, or for very specific driving conditions, you need to go to a tuner, put your truck on a dyno and have a truly “custom” tune written just for it.

My friend said his truck ran worse after tuning, what could cause that? I don’t want to have the same problem.
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 28, 2012 10:58 AM
Though this tuner can run diagnostics and clear trouble codes, it is not designed to fix underlying problems related to tuning or mechanics. If your truck is already having a problem, always get it fixed BEFORE installing a new tune.

what else would i need besides the programmer to get more hp and better mpg?

I would recommend a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust system. Take a look at our K&N and Magnaflow systems. Our customers love them and we have the best deal online with our 1 year low price guarantee.

Can the stock map be returned and no evidence remain the tuner was installed? I have heard(not verified) aftermarket tuners void factory warranties. I also read there is a tell tale sign left after the tuner is removed.
Answered by Michael K. — Apr 09, 2012 12:48 PM
Hey Steve, thanks to the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act: US Code – Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312, your vehicle’s factory warranty is protected by law when you add aftermarket parts. Check it out here: Magnuson Moss Warranty Act. As far as the tell-tale sign or "footprint" left behind, there are varying stories on this. It's probably safe to assume that though the factory tune can be reinstalled and the manufactor cannot tell, if they really dig into it for somereason, there will likely be some sort of sign.

does this come with the programmer monitor and probe?
Answered by Michael K. — Jan 30, 2012 9:23 AM
Hi Blane, touch-screen monitor and programmer are one single unit. The kit also includes a universal suction cup mount and a cable for internet updates. The EGT probe is sold separately, and you can find that in the optional accessories that will appear once you select your vehicle.

Can this Edge CTS Programmer receive custom tunes? If so, where would I get them from?
Answered by Jordan C. — Nov 11, 2010 9:03 AM
Hey Dennis, Unfortunately, the CTS cannot be loaded with custom tunes. However, it does give you the ability to tweak settings for your rev limiter, speed limited, gear ratio and tire sizes, to name a few.
