A 5.7L HEMI is a gas guzzler by definition. That being said, I would od an add on here, another there, when I could get products on sale at AutoAnything. So, with this, and the K&N cold air system, throttle body spacer, Accel super coils, plasma plugs, and Magnaflow exhaust, I effectively went from an average of 13.5 to 19.5 MPG- in the mountains, mind you. The Superchips programmer worked in tandem with these, to give me the last three MPG average upgrade.

I bought it hoping I'd get better MPG's by using the 89 tune, I don't really see a difference in fuel consumption, but it made a HUGE difference in power! I'm loving it!

Had this for about a month in my 04 Ram 2500 5.7 and could tell immediately a little extra punch on the throttle. I think I like the modified shift points the most. However, running in 87 octane mode the whole time and lost about .5mpg - I was sort of expecting a little improvement here. It does seem to idle a little smoother too.

I had an older programmer from Superchips. It wasn't updatable. This gives me an average of 3-5 miles per gallon on the 87 octane setting. Not to mention the extra power and torque. Not a lot you can change though. You can use it to adjust tire size to calibrate your speedometer. It also had a log feature that can be used to do 0-70 and up to a quarter mile run. Seems to be pretty accurate too! Loving my Superchips! Thanks AutoAnything!!

Received the programmer in about 4 days. Updated it on the PC then plugged into the Ram and did the basic 91 octane. Right away the ticking noise I had before went away. Fast off the line and pretty smooth. Didn't like the fact I had to use 91 octane so switched to 87 and like that better. It seems to have more low end but still screams. MPG on 87 is about 1 mpg better. Will update again on the pc shortly and tune for my towing a 7klb trailer.

Have bought two of these now for a Ford Explorer Sporttrac and a Dodge Ram w/ Hemi. The Ford is used to pull a 3800 lb. camper and it has greatly improved shifting and towing. I did not see much increase in mileage with gas saver mode but can tell a real difference in the power and shifting in Performance Mode. The one for my sons Dodge has not been used enough to rate yet but he does claim son increase in fuel economy on the highway driving the 300 miles between home and college.

This programmer is great, I did quite a bit to research before purchasing one. Had a question which was answered right away. Received the programmer a few days later and it woke my 5.7 hemi up.

Delayed writing this review until I had a chance to run a few tanks of fuel through the truck and try the various tunes. 87 Octane tune is noticeable better than stock, better throttle response, slight increase in MPG. 91 Performance tune really woke the truck up and if you can keep your foot out of it, the MPG was better than stock. Mileage XS (gas saver) tune performance was comparable to stock but the MPG gain in my opinion was not enough to compensate for the loss in performance.

After I ordered the Cortex programmer for my 2005 Dodge Ram 2500, I wondered if I would get my moneys worth or if I would even tell a difference. I was pleasantly surprised by the power that was added to my vehicle! It was a huge difference and quite noticable. Awesome product.
