AFM device a success

Although I am still waiting to see if my oil consumption is reduced, I do appreciate the instance response when I start to accelerate. I hope to eliminate burning out #7 spark plug too.

Chevy owners

If you own a Chevy with AFM "Active Fuel Management" and would like to deactivate this system on your vehicle. THIS WILL DO IT! AFM allows the engine to go from V8 mode to V4 mode in an effort to boost fuel economy. I have a 2007 Avalanche LTZ and it would shudder/vibrate as is changed from V4 mode to V8 mode. It goes into V4 mode everytime you let off the gas at any speed above 30 mph, then shudders as it swithes back into V8 mode. VERY IRRITATING. I took the truck to my machanic, they could not fix the problem, ended up at the dealership. They reflashed the computer for $90 said that would fix it. No change at all. Finally decided to try the Superchips in an effort to change the shift points and pressures in the tranny to see if that would help. Got my new Flashpag, plugged it in and to my surprise was an option to DISABLE AFM. YES! Problem solved. Runs great. Well worth the money to me for this alone, all the added performance programs is a bonus. Very happy.

2007 Avalanche

I think the programmer and combination of new intake system was a great investment. With both systems installed the same time I can't tell which gas the increase with gas mileage and horse power. All I can say is I get on average about 3 extra miles per gallon and when I set the programmer to power I have it. Great propuct
