Hypertech Max Energy Programmer Reviews

3.8l camaro

The intake gives the car a deeper roar. Along with my hypertech power programmer I feel immense gains . My next step is a car-back exhaust and my v6 will be the perfect blend of economy and performance! Install was less than an hour and really easy. Looks great!

Worth the investment

Reviewed By Michael H (Burleson, TX) Reviewed for a 2002 Chevy Camaro —10/31/2006 7:08 AM

I have a base camaro 3.8L V6 with automatic transmission. I added a magnaflow exhaust catback with dual pipes and a cold air induction system so I wasn't sure how much benefit I would see gained through adding the Jet Chip stage 2. My first tank of gas showed a 1.5mpg improvement and that was with my foot shoved through the injectors most of the time. The transmission shifting performance is greatly improved and I have less loss of RPMs as it shifts. My son tested it against a Dodge charger with a hemi. The Charger won on acceleration from a stop but the Camaro overtook and passed it very quickly. I have not compared the Jet Chip to other similar products but it is well worth the investment I made.

Relatively Straight Forward

Reviewed By Kirk B (LONE JACK, MO) Reviewed for a 2010 Chevy Camaro —11/10/2016 2:39 PM

I really purchased this tuner so I could purchase/upload a custom tune for my 2010 Camaro after I install my long tube Kooks headers with hi-flow cats. In the interim, I hooked it up and adjusted some parameters (axle ratio, idle RPM ) and uploaded SCT's tune. Seems straight forward. I'm not sure I can feel a seat-of-the-pants difference. I did notice the tuner already has a tune on it for long tube headers! I will upload that tune and evaluate before purchasing a custom tune.
