Hypertech Max Energy Programmer Reviews

Exactly what I needed

Reviewed By Lester M (Salisbury, NC) Reviewed for a 2003 Chevy Silverado —10/14/2016 3:33 AM

I purchased a different controller at a higher price. It caused the check engine light to come on and it surged when idling. I spent (6) 20 minute unsuccessful attempts to talk to their customer service without any success. I ordered the Hypertech. Everything was programmed in 10 minutes with the Hypertech. I've owned another Hypertech unit for 8-10 years and it still works perfect. I don't know why I didn't get Hypertech first. I love my Hypertech and so does my truck.

setting 3 economy

most of the people will buy this for more power but i got it for the economy mode is ask for you to use regular (usually 87 octane) so i had to run it on setting 2 until i filled up on 87. Am know running it on setting 3 but with both setting it changes the shift time from factory and with the mile coach it shows me around 23 mpg but it also account for costing with i can do a lot off in WV all and all if you by it sooner then latter it should save you money if you watch the mile coach

Triple Dog GT

It's not that bad of a chip. I was getting 11 mpg and now I'm getting about 16 but I'm also running premium gas now so....there isn't that much difference horsepower wise either. I'd probably go with a different brand if I was buying another one
