Great Performance Improvement

Reviewed By Randy N (Renton, WA) Reviewed for a 2005 Dodge Dakota —5/22/2012 2:31 PM

I purchased the Jet Stage 1 Performance Module instead of a programmer because I did not want to mess around with changing the computer settings on my Dakota. I also wanted to be able to quickly return it to stock whenever desired. I installed the module in literally about 15 minutes. Most of this time was spent on removing the computer module from my truck's firewall. The enclosed instruction was not real detailed on how to remove the harness from the computer module. I had to consult my repair manual which indicated that I had to slide the harness lock lever back then depress the tang that was exposed. My truck already has a KN intake system along with a Magnaflow catback exhaust and that combination in itself released a whole lot of horsepower. I selected the Stage 1 module because I did not want to be forced to use a 180 degree thermostat and 92 octane fuel. I called Jet and the tech that I spoke to confirmed that even with my mods to my truck, the Stage 1 module will still work fine. After installing the Jet Performance Module, my truck has even more power that I noticed right away. It truck is a real "beast" now. Really responsive and great sound and acceleration. I tried using 92 octane gas and that made even more difference in power and performance. The Dodge V8 is not notable for mileage so that is not one of my concerns. Performance however, is SUPERB!

Easy to use, but probably not worth $300 for my Truck.

Reviewed By Otto R (FREDERICKSBURG, VA) Reviewed for a 2002 Dodge Dakota —11/14/2016 8:43 AM

4.7L Auto, CAI & HF Muf. Wanted more power (&/or) MPG & adjust speedo for big tires. I can't give it 5*'s because I can't honestly say it was worth 300 bucks. There are other options that do these things for less. If you have a newer truck, you can probably get more bang for your buck using more than 4 tunes. I noticed power gain in 91 performance, but only got 14mpg. Enough to notice driving, but gas is $.50 more. Gain of 1mpg (16 to 17) in Fuel Saver Mode on 87. Not much savings there either.
