Bully Dog Hemi Plus Tuner Reviews

Bully Dog Hemi Plus Tuner

Reviewed By Matt V (Los Lunas, NM) Reviewed for a 2012 Dodge Durango —4/7/2013 6:38 AM

I love it!!!!! I have Flowmaster exhaust, K&N cold air and with the tuner set to low octane gained 1mpg and on high octane setting gained 2 mpg over stock. Gained 1 mpg with C/A and exhaust for a total of 3 mpg gain average (modest) mixed town and highway driving. The tuner took care of the lean spots created by the C/A and exhaust, very pleased!!! The tuner did not have any instructions so I made the leap and used the instructions for the non Hemi tuner from Bully Dogs website. Problem solved

Very easy to install and works great. I had been very unhappy with my overall mpg with my gas fueled truck since purchasing as I have been getting 11 mpg at best (driving down highway with no load). When towing a trailer my mpg's dropped to around 7 to 8 mpg. Since the installation of the Bully Dog GT I have seen increases of 3 to 4 mpg across the board. That is an amazing 30% or better increase in fuel mileage. I just averaged 15 mpg running down the highway at 70+ mph which is almost a 40% increase! This increase in mileage will make for a quick payback of my initial cost of purchase. I can't really attest to increases in horsepower however I'm sure their was. I really didn't have a problem before getting the Bully Dog as I was most interested in increasing fuel economy. My truck does shift a little harder since the program download but this isn't a detrimental observation. I thought that the driving coach would be kind of silly but I have found it becoming a challenge to beat. It has helped my keep my foot out of the gas quite a bit. I had to turn the "chiping" off as that became quite obnoxious but it was a simple change to make. One of the minor complaints that I have is that I would like to see a little bigger screen. I'm a little older, okay I'm old as my son keeps telling me, and wear bifocals. So, I find it hard to read the very fine print on the screen. However, the gauges can be seen during normal operation. For future purchasers I would recommend getting the optional windshield mount. The mount that comes with the GT is okay however I find it to vibrate a bit while driving. The optional windshield mount appears to be of a more stable platform which I will most likely be purchasing in the future. Overall, I'll never own a truck without a Bully Dog GT. This is probably the best aftermarket item that you can add to your truck.

Bully Dog WatchDog Fuel Economy Monitor Reviews

Works as advertised.

Reviewed By Richard B (Minot, ND) Reviewed for a 2003 Ford Explorer —4/14/2012 3:58 PM

Cant hate it too much but when I got it one of the "capacitor touch buttons" required more than a touch, now it seems to work just fine. Its a fuel economy monitor, not much else to say about it. I did just get back from a roadtrip and found out for sure that drafting behind semi's does save fuel...4-5 gpm-ish. Id like this more if it wasnt so expensive but hey, its a cool gadget.
