"I own several diesel trucks, which I have had multiple programmers for, and this Banks Automind is really good.
If you are looking for balls to the wall power and black smoke, then this is not the tuner for you.
Don't get me wrong this unit Does make great power, but it keeps everything in check, EGT's, trans temp, etc... which is very important to me.
"Custom" tunes will adjust a lot of variables and let you go Way Past the safe stock limits, which I did not want. Been there done that.
Even in sport tune it tells you that you can pull 6K pound trailer with this setting.
Power is great, throttle response is good, trans shifts smoothly, cold starts are great.
Banks puts a lot of engineering and testing in their products and it shows.
Great Job Banks Diesel!" —Rob C from Columbia, MD bought a Banks AutoMind Programmer for a 2005 Ford F-350, 6.0L Power Stroke.
"I've had the max energy programmer for about a month now I bought it only for mpg's.I saw instant power difference with the stage 1, I went from 13-14 mpg to 15-16.5 mpg. I only ran the stage 2 for about 2 days so I don't have a mpg but it was well enough power. But I haven't had time to install stage 3 but I figure it'll make a powerstroke whistle! And I love that sound!" —Joe M from Archer, FL bought a Hypertech Max Energy Programmer for a 2005 Ford F-350, 6.0L Powerstroke.
"Gained more pep. Cut the muffler off and it has more bark when you get on it." —Art F from Waxhaw, NC bought a Hypertech Max Energy Programmer for a 2005 Ford F-350, 6.0L Powerstroke.
"For the short time that I have owned it, I am happy with it. It has added the power that I was looking for without having to rebuild everything under the hood. Though I have had an issue with the gauges. Every once and awhile the gauges wont work. Everything else works but wont read the temps. All in all I am happy with it." —Darrek D from Chelsea, ME bought a Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Tuner (49-State Legal) for a 2005 Ford F-350.
"This item has given my truck an unbelievable boost of power. It purrs like a kitten, you can't even tell it's a diesel when it's idling." —Wayne L from Myrtle Beach, SC bought a Superchips Cortex Programmer for a 2005 Ford F-350, 6.0L Power Stroke.
"I have to admit, I was skeptical but, the fuel mileage tune added 3 MPG to my truck. I am very, very, happy with the fuel mileage results. My truck has more "Pep" than ever. I will test the towing tunes ASAP." —Roger P from Phenix City, AL bought a Superchips Flashpaq Tuner for a 2005 Ford F-350, 6.0L Power Stroke.
"After installation, I have noticed a smoother shift from my auto transmission. Approximately 2 MPG better gas milage and more power than before. To me, those are the improvements I was seeking when I purchased the unit. The only issue I have with the instructions, was what mode am I in. It was not explained in the instructions. I chose #2 as it was in the middle of the three settings. Also, it doesn't explain what #1, #2 or #3 is? Did I miss reading something? Otherwise, it appaears to be a good investment. Sincerely, S." —Sam I from Napa, CA bought a Hypertech Max Energy Programmer for a 2005 Ford F-350, 6.0L Powerstroke.
"This was my first time with a product like this. It was as simple to use as it can get. I followed the on screen instructions and all went well.
I selected the #2 program to try out first. When I took my 1 ton dually for a spin through town I thought maybe I made a mistake. It had more pep then before but I was looking for better mileage. To my surprise the next day I took a 300 mile trip and instead of the normal 17 miles per gallon highway, I got just a little over 20 mpg.
I will try the other programs but I can always come back to #2." —Kerry B from Wasilla, AK bought a Hypertech Max Energy Programmer for a 2005 Ford F-350, 6.0L Powerstroke.
"I was very impressed with the difference in power immediately. I am rather disappointed in the monitor display. It won't shut off when the vehicle does. It switched from day to night screen for some reason. The driving efficiency rating is being effected by the unit not shutting off with the vehicle. I have yet to see the rating above a B even though the bar measures the most efficiency which perhaps is just because of the vehicle being a manual diesel F350 dually, and the efficiency may never get to an A. The average fuel usage per gallon has gone consistently down. I'm sure part of the problem is that I haven't increased the size of the muffler yet. Fuel efficiency was my main reason for getting this, and I'm just dissapointed that this chip hasn't really made a difference." —Marge P from Box Elder, SD bought a Bully Dog Triple Dog GT Tuner (49-State Legal) for a 2005 Ford F-350.
