Mo Go - but a little more fuel cost

Reviewed By Thomas M (Carbondale, CO) Reviewed for a 2001 GMC C/K 3500 —7/2/2010 8:18 AM

Slam dunk to install. Had to remove 2 fuses but down loaded with no problems. Tuned to "regular" gas in an 8.1 GMC and had some ping but called in and the regular setting is set for 87 octane and I had 85 so bought some octane booster and solved that problem. Later fueled with 1/2 premium and 1/2 85 and so far no problems. Power gain is noticable, especially in mid range. A little dissapointed in the 87 octane setting as I was after performance gain as well as cost and ended up costing about a dime more per gallon for the 87. Haven't run enought to notice any fuel milage gain at this point and it is hard to keep your foot away from the firewall so we'll see if the additional performance is worth a dime/gallon. At this point I would recommend the programmer, however.

Hypertech Speedometer Calibrator Reviews

works great

Reviewed By William W (COLUMBUS, OH) Reviewed for a 2014 Chevy Silverado —6/27/2015 12:06 PM

I initially set the unit for 34" tires, the diameter of my Toyo ATIIs in 295 60r20, the speedometer was actually a couple mph over. After some downward-tweaking for tire inflation level, I setting the unit to correct for 32.75 inch tires got my speedometer accurate to within less than 0.5mph error compared to Garmin GPS. Keep in mind that actual tire diameter is dependent on how many psi you are running, so getting things right on the money may take some tweaking.
