Mo Go - but a little more fuel cost

Reviewed By Thomas M (Carbondale, CO) Reviewed for a 2001 GMC C/K 3500 —7/2/2010 8:18 AM

Slam dunk to install. Had to remove 2 fuses but down loaded with no problems. Tuned to "regular" gas in an 8.1 GMC and had some ping but called in and the regular setting is set for 87 octane and I had 85 so bought some octane booster and solved that problem. Later fueled with 1/2 premium and 1/2 85 and so far no problems. Power gain is noticable, especially in mid range. A little dissapointed in the 87 octane setting as I was after performance gain as well as cost and ended up costing about a dime more per gallon for the 87. Haven't run enought to notice any fuel milage gain at this point and it is hard to keep your foot away from the firewall so we'll see if the additional performance is worth a dime/gallon. At this point I would recommend the programmer, however.

Fixed all my issues

Reviewed By Allan R (Byron, MN) Reviewed for a 2007 Chevy Silverado —5/27/2015 3:42 PM

truck had problems with rpm fluctuation between 40-50 mph. ran the 87 octane tune and it pretty much took care or it. Didn't see a huge hp gain but the tune for the shift points and pressure was well worth it. Should have bought one years ago. Have a 07 Silverado new body style.

Fantastic capability

I've noticed an increase in mpg of about 2-3% in the Mileage XS Saver programming with my truck which translates to about 20 miles per tank more than the stock program. I will say that the 87 Octane program has noticeable changes over the stock program. My truck has the 5.4L with the 3.73 rear end. I am running a K&N cold-air intake with an Airaid PowerAid throttle body spacer. In the Performance program I have trouble keeping my foot out of the accelerator because of the increases!
