Awesome change

Reviewed By Chris R (Murrieta, CA) Reviewed for a 2003 Jeep Wrangler —12/2/2013 10:18 PM

This had a great result which I had delayed trying thinking it would not measure up. My change was substantial in horsepower using the stage two tuner on a street 4.0 6 with Banks intake, headers, and an oversize exhaust. This brought all the pieces together, and I have not yet installed the 180 degree thermostat. Will see what impact this has in addition.

2003 Jeep Rubicon

Reviewed By Timothy K (Victoria, BC) Reviewed for a 2003 Jeep Wrangler —3/11/2008 7:58 PM

I reprogrammed my stock 4.0 litre 2003 Jeep with the Hypertech Max Energy Programmer, the reprogramming was simple, just fllow the instructions. I was able to set the RPM limit 500 rpm's higher, and programmed for horsepwoer/torque on 86 octane fuel. I could feel the immediate different, the lower rpm torque could be noticed, but the biggest improvement was at higher altitude, the power was there, that wasn't before. I was not afraid to pass slower traffic, as before it took considerable distance to pass slower moving vehicles. It also can clear or diagnose most error codes, which is helpful.

WORTH THE EFFORT

Reviewed By TIMOTHY M (AURORA, CO) Reviewed for a 2013 Jeep Wrangler —12/27/2017 8:03 AM

I put one in my diesel a few years ago. It's a nice little unit. Then I bought a Jeep and wanted to know about the trans temp when towing as I didn't want to lose another trans like in my small pu. Gauges were available, but adapters were tough to find. Then I heard that ScanGauge had added a code to access trans temp in a Jeep & I'm feeling better about towing with my Jeep. Definitely worth the effort to look it up & program the unit. Just wish they sold a piggy-back adapter for the dlc.
