nice unit, low key change to vehicle

Nice little unit, though buttons may be a tad small for easy use. Easy install and mounting. If looking for dramatic power gains may want to look elsewhere and do other performance upgrades. May be slight increase in MPG, but again not significant.

Alot better throttle response

Reviewed By Jeff K (Tacoma, WA) Reviewed for a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder —6/23/2009 9:23 PM

This programmer was in addition to the K&N cold air intake and a dual Flowmaster exhaust. The truck was pretty responsive with the first two modifications, but things really came alive with the programmer. I can't speak to any improvement to the mileage since it has only been installed for a week or so, but I am also from the school of thought that you buy this type of stuff for the performance, not the economics. I personally expect a dramatic decrease in mileage since my foot seems to be a lot heavier now. As far as installation...it took a little longer than HyperTech claimed. Apparently I needed to upgrade the software for the programmer for my particular truck. I had to go to the computer and download the upgrade. Even though this was an extra step, it was VERY easy. Overall, it was a great choice to install the programmer. I would buy it again without hesitation. If you do go with the programmer, also buy an upgraded thermostat. They do not make one for the 2008 Dakota yet so I am not at the full potential of what it has to offer yet.

If you're on the fence, but this!

Reviewed By George H (Springfield, VA) Reviewed for a 2005 Nissan Pathfinder —5/28/2009 6:32 AM

I installed the 91 octane performance tune in my '05 Pathfinder. WOW, what a difference! There was no WOT restriction removal option as I guess Pathys come from the factory without the WOT restriction. Anyway, it's like an entirely new vehicle!
