The device does what it says. It disables the AFM and takes away the hesitation and the sluggishness. I used to have a 2005 NBS Tahoe and I regretted exchanging it for a 2013 NNBS Tahoe due to the sluggishness caused by the AFM. Now I am enjoying the newer truck due to more responsive throttle. I did notice a loss of 0.5 MPG but it's worth it for the truck to not feel like a big slug.
Amazingly simple enhancement!
Primary purpose was to "tune the Tahoe" for towing. Setup instructions could be clearer: 1. Downloaded setup SPARK went to UPDATE got error "Do not have updates for your vehicle" Call 888-.....Called tech said needed to plug into OBD II port get vehicle files. Got Stock files. 2. Got another message "Need to Charge battery first" Nothing mentions flashpaq needed to be charge? 3. Display Setting does NOT have a EXIT choice when done. Felt the difference immediately on the freeway onramp!!
Just what the doctor ordered
We have a 2013 Tahoe that my wife dearly loves, but it always seemed a little under powered to me. A few weeks ago I purchased a Volant cold air intake, Gibson exhaust, and the Hypertech Max Energy Programer. What a difference it made to our sleepy Tahoe. Raised the shift points, adjusted the shift torque, chose the premium gas option and this SUV now runs like a champ. No longer is it down shifting, or slow off the line. This is a no regret purchase, I just hope my wife lets me drive it now.
