don't buy if you have 2012 fusion sport
The computer in the fusion sport was deep under other components that needed to be removed. Overall a 45 to an hour job from a professional mechanic.. the pins hardly fit,they are round and ford has v shaped.anyways after installation the car was rumbling, a couple of days later I took it to the shop. I had to get my entire ignition coil replaced, the spark wires are melted, and the pcm had to be replaced. Turns out it made the car leak out high voltage. Almost 1k in repaIr. Learn from me.
TUNING THE FUSION
OVERALL THE TUNER IS EXCELLENT IN WHAT IT CAN REPROGRAM AND THE PERFORMANCE RESULTS WITH JUST THE 87 OCTANE TWEAKING IS REMARKABLE IN THE ENGINE PERFORMANCE GAINS. THE REPROGRAMING OF THE TOP SPEED LIMITER TO MATCH THE TIRE SPEED RATING IS THE LEAST GAIN IN TOP SPEED PERFORMANCE. I ONLY GAINED 5 MPH MORE FROM THE FACTORY TOP SPEED SETTING. HYPERTECH IS LOOKING INTO THIS AT THIS TIME. I AM HAPPY WITH THE END RESULTS OF THIS PROGRAMER AND WITH THE GAINS IN OVERALL PERFORMANCE OF MY 2009 FUSION WITH THE 3.0L V6. ITS NOT A 1/4 MILE DRAGSTER BUT ITS A LOT PEPPIER THAN STOCK.
'09 ford fusion
mpg tested before 26.3 after 27.9 (same route) on 87 octane. will pay for itself. manual didn't say what port to install it. customer service only open during the week, so plan ahead. just wish they idividualized the installation manuals more. sometimes requires a little more work on installing. '09 fusion users, top port and must remove at least 1 bolt from battery support bracket to rotate it out of the way to get module plugged in. battery bracket will go back after module is plugged in.
