What a difference!!

Reviewed By Robert H (Hopkins, MN) Reviewed for a 2011 Chevy Avalanche —6/24/2015 9:33 PM

I have been at odds what to do about the AFM system on my 2011 Avalanche. Then after reading the reviews on the Range device, tried it and love the smooth acceleration I get. Gas mileage dropped a little, because I'm having fun driving this thing. Too bad GM didn't put a bypass switch of the AFM system on these trucks or have it as an option. I HIGHLY recommend this device if you can't stand the constant shifting into V4 from V8 and losing out on the acceleration these vehicles do have.

kraff

This product is a "no-brainer" for the oil consuming GM 5.3L. Wish I would have installed sooner than 130,000 miles. No negative impacts at all and does exactly as advertised. I have actually noticed a slight increase in mpg and reduced valve clicks on start up. Car guys appreciate products that really work and solve problems....this one does that!

Works as Advertised

Reviewed By Peter V (Middletown, RI) Reviewed for a 2008 GMC Sierra —6/22/2015 3:24 AM

The AFM Disable is a great device. I've had it installed for roughly 1 month and it does exactly as is claims to, and no more. My base idle seems to be getting smoother and I don't miss the sometimes jerky transitions between 4 and 8 cylinders (especially noticeable if it occurs during a trans downshift. I'm not noticing a real impact in actual fuel mileage. I'd rather have a smoother running, longer lasting engine regardless.
