I am now getting about a 1-2 mpg improvement in fuel economy using this programmer. The power increase is noticeable, and the transmission shifts are better. Sometimes the 3-2 downshift can be abrupt but never obtrusive. The Hypertech program is a safe choice for a programmer compared to other custom tunes. You may not get the extreme power of a custom tune with this programmer, but you're much less likely going to cause any damage to your vehicle.

I bought this tuner hoping to gain some mileage and a little performance for my 2001 Ram 1500 with the 5.2 V8 mag. I went from a little less than 12mpg to sometimes over 15 which is a great gain. 50+ miles per tank. I noticed better throttle response as well. Also it's easy to use and loads tunes in a few minutes.
