"No major radar detections events yet to report, but very impressive functional & ergonomic features. Seems to draw high "off" current, as it drained my 05 Jeep GC battery when indvertantly left plugged in but off for a week parked."

"I have used Escort products for the last few years and I am very pleased. I seem to get a quite a few false alarms, but that might be user error because I run it in auto mode. My driving enviroment is a mix of highway and city. I have no complaints and would recommend it. I definitely would not pay the extra money for the blue display unless you just have to have the blue display for some reason. Great product."

"While I did get pinched in Delaware by what must have been a laser gun, the 8500 X50 has saved me a few times I think. It is easy to use although I wish there were a way to filter out the X Band coming from garage door openers and alarm systems. Driving on I-95 in built up areas has it going off almost constantly. The laser function most decidely works. I was driving on the Palisades Parkway the other day and it went off and I almost jumped out of my skin. I was starting to accelerate over the limit so it kept me from going to fast. Not sure it would have saved me if I had been 20 miles over the limit. This device has probably made me a more, rather than less, conservative driver. I recommend it."
