"It is a great product overall. But at times i will see a police officer before my radar even picks it up. It does not work to well like if your going around a corner and then a cop is right there then it will start going off. It does work though because it has saved me once or twice. But if you want to go all out, i would go with the Passport 9500i. But if this is your first one, then i would go with this radar!"

"First one was stolen and picking the replacement was a simple choice. These radar/laser detectors won't give you the best range available but they'll give you enough. More range = more alerts, most of which will not apply to you. It's still up to you to remain observant & alert.
I've been saved numerous time going through "Alligator Alley" I-75 to Miami. You'd be suprised how many cops leave there radar guns on, and they still catch plenty speeders.
I have been Lasered twice but saw the cops before the detector went off and slowed down enough to avoid a ticket. Both times were direct hits. The laser detector isn't going to save you if you don't see them first or before they get a lock on you. I have had many false alerts on laser, always in the same spot of Tampa by the airport, I have no idea what causes this.
I originaly bought this detector because I didn't need another cord cluttering my vehicle, now I'm convinced there is no better cordless detector out there. Battery life is acceptable and the built-in motion sensor does help to conserve power.
This detector comes highly recomended, you won't be disappointed."

Goes head to head with any non-cordless detector

"I've had this radar detector for two weeks now. I've been impressed by it since I put it in my car. I'm coming from a Bel 980, and was skeptical of the cordless detectors. The only weakness of this detector is that its not explosively loud, but its loud enough. Features I really like:
Very few false alarms
Good range - equal to or better than my 980
Screen is only on when something is being detected (no bright display at night)
and NO CORDS, battery life is better than I expected. I drive alot, so I figured I'd put a pretty good hurt on the life, but after two hard weeks of driving, it JUST went to 3/4 life yesterday.
Overall, its a great detector. Those skeptical of the cordless like me, this will make you a believer."

"I have been using the Solo S2 for about a month. I am very pleased with my purchase. It is small and unobtrusive in the top left corner of my windshield. I think it was well worth the money because I was looking for a small, cordless radar detector."

"Purchased this because I previously owned the Escort 850 model. I liked it very much but was starting to get annoyed by the power cord so I thought I'd try this model. So far I'm very happy. Highly sensitive. No limitation to placement on the windshield which is great. I like the auto off/auto on feature. Well worth the investment."

"I purchased the Escort Solo primarily due to brand name recognition and particularly since it it is battery operated. The sleek, slim design is appealing as well as the many features & benefits such as ease to remove and replace on the suction cup holder. It cost a bit more than others, but the fact that it can be re-programed to update the unit to adapt to new signals was a factor, as well. I chose to pay more to get the best, and very glad that I did so. Exceptionally pleased with this product."

"It's not cheap, but the S2 is a great radar detector. I was concerned about limited range, because the unit is cordless. Turns out, the range is fine. No programming necessary - works fine right out of the box with auto mute, battery saver, etc. Easy to see display. Windshield mount is perfect. Can't comment on battery life yet - only had the unit in service a week or so - but so far, battery icon still shows full power. Having just paid $420 to plea bargain out of points on a speeding ticket, I'd say this is $330 well spent."

"This is my first detector so I do not have anything to compare it with. Eversince I got this detector, it had saved me several times. Two of the more notable ones which proved its effectiveness were in the twisting roads where it gave me a warning 3 curves ahead. Another incident was an overhead merge into the freeway where I was speeding down the ramp just to find a HW Trooper coming from behind.
This unit can be carried around very conveniently and being wireless kept my dashboard clear of all the tangles. I would recommend this product to anyone in the market."

"It was easy to install and set-up options. The cordless feature was the main reason for buying and certainly makes the dash less cluttered and the unit more easily switched from one vehicle to another. I haven't had it long enough to determine if battery life/replacement frequency will be an issue. However, in two weeks of daily use and two 4-hour trips, the battery is at half life. Only complaint is that blue LCD display is not visible in normal daylight conditions. The red LED display option may have been a better choice."
