Check out this recent Surco Safari Roof Rack customer review: Chad S from Atkinson, NH says "Very easy to install! I was very happy mounting this rack on my 07 Jk 4 door wrangler. I would not recomend this rack for heavy duty , but great for lighter applications. I mounted this rack to put the 80lb. spare tire on the roof and so far it has done very well. I highly recomend making aluminum plates to support the inside of the fiberglass. The kit comes with no backer plates, so buyer should re enforce with anything on the inside to spread the weight of the rails above. Other than that, this rack does a great job for alot of less money, and very easy to install. Aluminum wont rust over time, like steel racks will, so another plus for this one!"
