"Rack fits perfectly and it looks good.
Leave yourself some time to assemble it (up to 2 hrs) because it is a lot of parts and screws.
Fit right onto my existing Chevy Tahoe factor rack. The extra clamps you have to buy make it a little pricey, but it seems very solid."

"i think it will look pretty good once i get it mounted. i think it would look a bit cooler if it was an inch or two taller. also, i think some kind of mounting brackets should come with it. i buy a $180 rack then i have to buy $50 brackets so i can use the stupid thing? at least have some kind of deal where the brackets are 50% off when you buy a rack, or something! other than that i think it looks very sharp, the floor of it looks pretty flimsy but i can deal with it."

"Okay, this is a good roof rack for hauling soft luggage or baggage. However, it is not at all suited for heavy gear, such as snowboards, camping gear, etc. I would like to see a solid bottom, preferably plate metal, for hauling extra heavy stuff.
I give it a C+ overall. I'd like to see an A+ product become available."

"I have been looking for a good safari rack for my Jeep Liberty for about a year. The Surco rack went on nicly and seems pretty sturdy. Other racks I looked at required expensive crossbar systems. I was happy to pay under $300 for the whold kit. The rack arrived quickly and was put together and installed easily with only one person."

"Very satisfied with my purchase from AutoAnything. Rack was received within 3 days. Installed it on my 2005 Honda CR-V. The basket floor required additional cross-bracing, I used 2 4ft lengths of 3/8" aluminum channel (plywood trim).Additional cost was about $10 US. The adapters don't include covers, I cut slots in my OEM rail covers for a finished look. Buy this rack then go buy a trailer hitch and accessories with the money you saved over other racks. I did!"

"The Surco Safari Roof Rack looks great on top of my Jeep Cherokee. It was eazy to put together and very light wight. The directions could be a little bit better but with some common sense and elbow grase it went together like a charm. Once i put lights on it, it only got better. It's a must buy for any Jeep or SUV."

"I recently purchased this rack for my 2001 4runner. After all was said and done, it looked GREAT. The only bad thing was that the rack did not come with assembly directions. It went together with a little common sense, but directions would have saved a lot of time."

"The rackmeets up to my expectaions. The installation was pretty easy too. The problem is on the Element the screws that went into the top of the car were too short and the head of the screw was too small so I used the washers that were ment for another part of the installation. Also the screws for the flats were too short. Not both side of the bottom flats line up with the element but drilling holes if they do not fit is recommended in the instructions. I liked the fact that they had the Element adapters so I did not need to have the Honda factory rack to make this work. I also got the light adapters to mount my piaa lights. It looks Good, very functional and goes great with my Aries Grill and rear Tail light guards. All of this rocks with my BF Goodrich AT tires. My Element Is kick'n now. Thanks AutoAnything. You guys did me good. Prompt service and worked out my swap out on my Grill issues.

"Having looked into most all the other major rack manufacturers (Con-Ferr, Kargo Master, Garvin, Warrior, Thule & Yakima)& even trying a generic brand on ebay, I found the Surco to be the best of what I was looking for. For me, the price was a major factor. The design and quality proved to be good as well. The lightweight aluminum construction is nice although it does flex a bit with a spare tire. For the price, quality and available accessories, this is a good entry level rack for general off-roading and its value compares favorably to the other racks."

"The Surco Safari Roof Rack fits my Land Rover Freelander well. It's light weight and relatively easy to add and remove for occassional use. However, just as you wouldn't use a Freelander for rock crawling, you wouldn't want to depend on the Surco Safari Rack for long, rough hauls. Buyer beware."
