"very well made , nice appearance. I was worried about scratches from the clamps that hold down the rack so I coated them in a product called plastidip available at most hardware stores. still looks good and scratch worry was put to rest"

"I liked the rack but was concerned that the rack was not flat. When I put the rack on a flat surface only two legs would touch the floor. That means uneven weight distribution. I'm concerned about dents in the trunk lid. Overall I like the rack. Dave"

"Attractive, good fit, good value, much lower price than OEM. That said, a couple of caveats; 1. unit is slightly racked, or twisted, out of the box, but clamps down OK; 2. welding on connections not up to par, cosmetics only, structurally OK; 3. front clamp rubs against lid opening, caused small scratch in paint (left it off until I figure out how to protect it)."

"Was some-what warped and had some difficulty installing, but it was not a impossible task. Would have preferred rack to be lower profile (closer to the trunk top). Lower profile would give me better rearview with my low profile luggage."

"This rack fits my requirements very well: ease of installation and ease of removal. Looks good on the car; almost like an OEM part. One area for improvement: the centerline bracket nut/bolt assembly comes in contact with the trunk lid. Solution: Put a rubber washer between the nut and the trunk lid. Otherwise, buy it, you'll like it!"

"The rack was shipped on time and was unharmed, and fit perfectly on my Miata. There needs to be a lock-washer with the forward trunk mount to keep the screw from becoming loose,but I used some Lock-Tite on the threads to prevent this from happening. We have used the rack to tie our luggage bag to on a recent trip and it works great. A great addition would be a weather proof/waterproof bag, like those used on four wheelers-ATV's, to place your baggage in to keep safe and dry! Great product with easy installation. "Seems to be of a high quality and fits the bill I was looking for. Very easy to install. Have not had a chance at this point to tie a load to it or take a trip, but anticipate no problems. No disappointments but seems a bit pricey."

"While the deck rack was exactly what I was looking for, packaging was a little to be desired. The box was damaged upon receipt and the rack was bent out of square. I had to carefully bend it back into square without weakening or breaking any weld joints."

"I really like the Surco luggage rack on my NC. It fits and looks good, and now I feel like I can use my car for so much more. I have had several compliments on the rack since I installed it. "I think that this is a great rack for the back of my MX-5. One inprovement, my MX-5 has a small spoiler since it is the speed package. The top clip didn't line-up, I had to modify it to fit. You might want to think about having two clips a short a long or a slotted clip."

"At almost half the price of the official BMW rack, the Surco rack adds a great 'throwback' look to my Z3 roadster as well as providing a genuinley usefull accessory; I've already moved a new dishwasher myself without having to pester my long-suffering, but truck-owning neighbor. Easy to install and very well built, this item has already generated some favorable comments from friends and jelous mini-van drivers. Thoroughly reccomended!"
