Unless you've got a bona fide big rig parked in your driveway, your vehicle can only carry so much gear. Try as you might, there's no way you're going to cram your family, your luggage, your bikes and your ocean kayak into your CR-V—unless you equip your ride with the Rhino-Rack Base Rack System. This complete base roof rack system comes with everything you need to transform the top of your vehicle into a cargo-carrying platform.
Tougher than Paul Hogan in Manhattan, the Australian-born Rhino-Rack Base Rack System is built with strapping materials. Premium extruded aluminum for the crossbars. Glass-reinforced nylon that's UV stabilized for the feet. And, a reinforced H-shaped cross section inside each bar. Rhino roof racks can survive everything from urban jungles to the croc-infested Outback. Plus, their sleek oval design fits in on stylish sedans, rock-crawling 4x4s and everything in between.
Installing your Rhino Rack is a cinch. It simply clamps onto your raised side rails—no drilling, gluing or fiddling with adapter plates needed. Once in place, your Rhino roof rack works with all Rhino-Rack accessories, including bike, cargo and boat carriers. It also carries a Lifetime Warranty.

The crossbars fit the factory rails on my V70 perfectly and they don't look like an aftermarket add-on. In addition to providing solid support for my two 65lb kayaks the crossbars are aerodynamic and don't make any whistling noise that I can hear. My only issue was that there were 8 different Rhino-Rack advertising decals on the crossbars that were very distracting, but fortunately they came off well with Goo Gone.

I was pleased that there was an option of blk or silver for the crossbars at no extra charge. They installed easily, look great and the icing on the cake was that the bars are aerodynamic. You have to pay extra to get them from Thule which are way overpriced.

I am very pleased with my new rhino rack! It was easy to install and fits perfectly on the factory rails. I also like the sporty look it gives my suburban. I definitely recommend this to others. My only suggestion to rhino rack would be to install the rubber strip on top of the rack at the factory. Installing this strip was the most difficult part of the installation.

Rails worked out great. Install was about 20 minutes to do it right. There is little to no wind noise with this system. I had an older system that would whistle at speeds above 20 mph. This kit comes with rail gap fillers that prevent wind from enterning the system and causing noise. Overall the Rhino rails were a great fit on my and an a great buy. The rails work great with my Rhino cargo carrier on top of my 2011 Cadillac SRX. I would recommend the Rhino products and Autoanything highly.

I did a lot of research to find a quality rack that was as asthetically pleasing on my brand new 2012 VW Jetta Sport Wagon as it was functional. The Rino Rack nailed it. It easily handles hauling my bikes, oversized boxes from Ikea, and DIY building materials like full sheets of plywood and bundles of base board. One tip, make sure you cut the plastic filler strips to completely fill the mounting grooves or you will get some pretty loud whistling on the freeway. Cut tight, the filler strips make the racks nearly silent. This rack is worth every cent.

This rack installed easily in about 20 minutes and looks good. I use it as the base for the Rhino cargo basket. Surprisingly little wind noise with both: no more than you'd get. With a window cracked open.

Hi, I happen to LOVE my sunroof. I also happen to love my husband. He thinks we need a roof-rack since we have an automatic transmission and can't strap a trailer to my 2012 Jetta TDI that we happen to take everywhere. Is it possible to install this or any of the roof-racks available without disturbing my beloved sunroof? Thanks :)

Hi Tawni, The base rack system shouldn't cause any issues with your sunroof function.

I do not have any type of rack or side rails on the roof but there are factory installed (recessed) metal bars about 1/2 inch wide screwed into the roofline obviously designed to receive the clamp of a roof rack. Do you have any aftermarket Suzuki side rails that I could purchase?
