I love the unit. However, it was missing a piece required to complete its installation that I feel should be provided. The locking mechanism to the cross bars has a four piece with a cap unit. I was missing one of the caps, which protects it from theft.

The basket will hold whatever I can put into it. So far, just luggage on family trips. The looks are decent if you don't mind being an advertisement for Thule. This basket is pricey, but the quality and ease of assembly make it worth it.Inside the vehicle (without cargo)there is no noise whatsoever coming from the top.

so its a very solid piece of equipment takes about 45 minutes to a hour to assemble in doors. The problem it the way it mounts the upper piece sit in the cage and you li Limited in their placement options. This than rest on the roof rack bars using indents. Problem is unless you can adjust your bars it doesn't line up. Normally you can except the vw factory racks have guide female guide holes that line up to male nobs on the rack making for a tight secure mount. All good but you can't adjust them forward or backwards and of course they didn't line up. Add to that the racks for vw are thick. So I could get them to line up and mount on front but not back. I solved it by buying longer screws and wing nuts It's secure other then the back mount is off and not sitting in the slots. With that said it great and no wind noise at all. I'd suggest saying it doesn't fit with vw factory racks although I am fine with my wigging not sure everyone would see it that way. Still love it though

What a great product! I'm really glad I purchased the Thule MOAB. Installation was a breeze with really no tools with maybe except a tape measure. I intended to only have it on when needed but since it makes less noise than just having the cross bars on, I have decided to keep it on all the time. Pluss it make my Highlander look a little less like a mini van. Do yourself a favor and buy the locks at the same time you order this basket, wouldn't anyone taking of with your basket. You're welcome AutoAnything for the added sale.

Hello, I was interested in buying the Thule 6990 cargo basket. I was wondering do i need to get anything else to attach it to my aero cross bars? I'm not sure if it will help, but i also have 4 clamps which i can attach the aero cross bars to my snowboarding rack.

Hi, Most roof baskets should have no problem clamping onto your bars.

For a 2012 Honda CR-V EX-L, I wonder if the moab basket fits, I already have the original rails and Cross Bars from Honda.

If you have the Base Rack System including the cross bars, that basket will easily mount to your vehicle. The clamps are designed to work with many car maker's brands. You’ll also need to buy the MOAB Extension Bar for CR-Vs. Only the CR-V needs that additional piece due to the roof rail design. It makes it wider to accommodate the width of the factory CR-V roof rails.
