"This unit is a little long for the Honda Pilot. The lift gate spoiler rubs when fully lifted. The carrier mounts very easy and makes no road noise. The only problem I see is that the locking knobs inside the carrier take up a lot of space."

"Easy to mount and load up. I have side steps which you can stand on to get the height to load the carrier. Very little noise on the highway. No difference whether loaded or empty. Used it on my SUV to take my son to a 3 week summer camp and could actually see out the back window."

"The Thule Ascent Cargo Carrier was a great investment for me. It is very light in construction for installation, but because of that, it is a little wobbly when it's open. I would gladly give up weight! Install was quick and easy, if you can turn a knob, you can install it. One man install, but two recommended because it's light, but kind of bulky. When closed, it was sturdy and more than did the job. I put a lot of cargo up there and packed it full for a 15 hour trip. The only thing I could not do is open the roof of my Explorer because of the wind, but that was not much of a sacrafice. I drove through a pounding rain at no leaks! I wonder why I waited so long!
I also put a coat of Turtle Wax Ice on before I used it, and water beads up and runs off and the bugs wipe right off with no effort!"

"I bought this to increase my truck's luggage carrying capacity. I was able to fit three 24" carry-on suitcases and an overnight bag inside. Also, I was expecting more wind noise while driving, but the carrier generated very little noise. Installation was a breeze after I adjusted the width between the crossbars on the truck. The carrier remained secure throughout my entire road trip not needing any re-tightening."

"We really love our Thule Ascent Cargo Carrier! We've used it twice in the past 3 weeks and I'm already wondering what we did before we had it! There is so much more room in the van now. It's light-weight, easy to install and I really appreciate the fact that it's weather-proof. We've travelled through heavy rain and everything is still dry when we arrived at our destination! We purchased the middle sized one and LOVE it! We use it on our Honda Odyssey and Tahoe."

"I have never used a rooftop carrier before and was a bit nervous about doing so. However, the Thule works well. It is light enough to handle easily; installs in a few minutes with no tools needed; is spacious in length, width, and height; is water proof in even a drenching downpour; adds little road noise; increases by only a small amount the wind resistance; and easily clears my garage door when I drive into the garage. After my trip to Colorado, I removed the carrier in a few minutes (again no tools required) and put it in the attic, where it will rest till needed again in 2009.
If you have been looking for a third seat or a spare trunk to store the family trip gear in, this is it. I enthusiastically recommend this Thule Ascent Cargo Carrier.

"We are getting ready to make a drive half way across the US. Since it is winter we are taking the SUV. We have three half grown kids and they are not thrilled about being crammed in the SUV with luggage and skis. My brother loves his Thule so he convinced us to purchase one. The instillation was a breeze, it was easy to lift and put up on the SUV, and we are looking forward to cramming everything in it for the trip (maybe even one of the kids if they fight too much)."

"Carrier showed up in 5 working days just in time for our trip. Went on very easy - attached to our std roof crossbars. Clamps to the bars from inside the carrier so when it's locked shut, can't be removed without key to get in the box. Can fit a surprising amount of stuff in it! It sounds quieter on the road with the carrier on than it does with just our rack crossbars alone. Haven't checked what it does to mileage yet, but I made sure to get the size model that wouldn't hang over the front windshield but was back from the windshield a bit so as to be more aerodynamic. Very satisfied. Now I've got to find a place to store it!"

"Looked to be to large for my vehicle, but when installed, it was the perfect fit. I have a Subaru outback. Didn't even realize I was carrying on top of the vehicle. I just love it. I will not have to rent a larger vehicle for storage sake. It carried luggage, blankets, toys and blow up beds. It was delivered in two days that was perfect.
Thanks to youe company and staff, I am happy customer."

"What can you say? Easy on, easy access, excellent aerodynamics, and sharp looks. I got the 16 cubic foot version and it is perfect for my '02 Toyota 4-Runner. I love the 'claw' attachment system and the secure locking mechanism and can fit camping/fishing gear for 5 in it, freeing up lots of space in the cabin. I give it two thumbs up and look forward to years of service from it. Excellent delivery service, as well, in spite of the local trucking office telling me the driver 'broke down' on the day it was scheduled for delivery, when, really, he had been re-routed by his local dispatcher to cover someone else's deliveries. Anyway, if you're considering this piece, you won't be disappointed."

"We needed more room for our two tracking dogs in the back of the Jeep Cherokee. The Thule carrier holds all of our equipment and supplies and still has room to spare. The dogs now have plenty of room. The installation on factory racks took 10 minutes and it looks great. A little pricey, but if it lasts for a few years, it will be a good investment."

"We purchased this carrier to throw on a minivan with a family of 6 for vacation trips. It's a great size for throwing cargo (e.g. golf clubs) and mounts very easily. It took me about 5 minutes, no tools - very fast and secure. This model is one of the less expensive Thule models (based on equivalent cu-ft), but will work very for carrying luggage, etc.. I haven't attempted to throw skis into the carrier, but if you use shape skis which are typically shorter than the traditional planks, you shouldn't have any problems."

"The ordering experience with Autoanything was perfect. Easy transaction and delivered within a week. This is the first cargo carrier I have owned, so I do not have any comparison but this ones does all I want it to. It is large and easy to install on the top of our Rx350 Lexus. It looks good and I cann't tell it is up there when we are driving except a little drop in MPG. I do have a lttle trouble making it close all the way and locking it, even when it is empty, but all things considered it meets our expectations."

"We just recieved the 2008 Subaru and thought we needed extra space. Researched a bunch of sites and found AutoAnything to have the best price for the best product. I was going to order online but called to check availabilty and time frame for delivery as we needed this item within 6 days before our 12 hour trip. Called the Service center, they took my order over the phone and I received the item 2 days later. Great Service and I would definately buy from this company again."
