"This unit is a little long for the Honda Pilot. The lift gate spoiler rubs when fully lifted. The carrier mounts very easy and makes no road noise. The only problem I see is that the locking knobs inside the carrier take up a lot of space."

"Easy to mount and load up. I have side steps which you can stand on to get the height to load the carrier. Very little noise on the highway. No difference whether loaded or empty. Used it on my SUV to take my son to a 3 week summer camp and could actually see out the back window."

"The Thule Ascent Cargo Carrier was a great investment for me. It is very light in construction for installation, but because of that, it is a little wobbly when it's open. I would gladly give up weight! Install was quick and easy, if you can turn a knob, you can install it. One man install, but two recommended because it's light, but kind of bulky. When closed, it was sturdy and more than did the job. I put a lot of cargo up there and packed it full for a 15 hour trip. The only thing I could not do is open the roof of my Explorer because of the wind, but that was not much of a sacrafice. I drove through a pounding rain at no leaks! I wonder why I waited so long!
I also put a coat of Turtle Wax Ice on before I used it, and water beads up and runs off and the bugs wipe right off with no effort!"

"I bought this to increase my truck's luggage carrying capacity. I was able to fit three 24" carry-on suitcases and an overnight bag inside. Also, I was expecting more wind noise while driving, but the carrier generated very little noise. Installation was a breeze after I adjusted the width between the crossbars on the truck. The carrier remained secure throughout my entire road trip not needing any re-tightening."

"Very easy to install by myself. AA was great. The rep on the phone was very helpful and he gave me the low price guaranty without any hassle.
We have used the carrier for one ski trip so far and it worked wonderfully."

"We just returned from a 1k-mile ski trip and the carrier worked beautifully. Easy install and only cut the mileage by 1 to 1.5 mpg. Defiantly Recommended."

"We really love our Thule Ascent Cargo Carrier! We've used it twice in the past 3 weeks and I'm already wondering what we did before we had it! There is so much more room in the van now. It's light-weight, easy to install and I really appreciate the fact that it's weather-proof. We've travelled through heavy rain and everything is still dry when we arrived at our destination! We purchased the middle sized one and LOVE it! We use it on our Honda Odyssey and Tahoe."

"I have never used a rooftop carrier before and was a bit nervous about doing so. However, the Thule works well. It is light enough to handle easily; installs in a few minutes with no tools needed; is spacious in length, width, and height; is water proof in even a drenching downpour; adds little road noise; increases by only a small amount the wind resistance; and easily clears my garage door when I drive into the garage. After my trip to Colorado, I removed the carrier in a few minutes (again no tools required) and put it in the attic, where it will rest till needed again in 2009.
If you have been looking for a third seat or a spare trunk to store the family trip gear in, this is it. I enthusiastically recommend this Thule Ascent Cargo Carrier.
Bob"
