    Description

When you head out on a camping trek or road trip, there’s a lot of stuff to haul along. But luggage, coolers, and kids take up tons of precious cargo space. Once you starting adding fishing tackle, tents and kayaks into the mix, even the biggest SUV will soon seem mighty cramped. Equip your ride with a Yakima SkyBox Rooftop Cargo Carrier, and you’ll have plenty of room for your gear and your elbows.

Like a penthouse suite for the top of your auto, a Yakima SkyBox Cargo Carrier delivers both premium amenities and spacious carrying capacity. You can open the SkyBox from either side with just 1 hand, thanks to its spring-loaded hinges and triple-stiff lid. When you close, the cast-metal Super Latch automatically ensures a snug seal. Plus, the built-in lock helps stop would-be burglars from burgling your belongings.

No matter how much gear you’re packing along, there’s a Yakima SkyBox Rooftop Cargo Carrier for you. Pick from 2 sizes ranging from a healthy 16 cubic ft to a spacious 18 cubic ft. Lifetime Warranty.

I enjoyed the having more room in the vehicle while traveling. It made carrying luggage and all the we needed for the weekend trip a success. The carrier was easy to install and use. I recommend it highly!

Decided against Thule because of price. The Yakima seems a bit flimsy, and can be hard to close if it is packed full. Also, the amount of packing space is limited due to the shape of the box. I had been told it would be noisy, but not so. For the price, I would recommend it.

This box is great and delivery was quick and accurate. Unfortunately, I miscalculated the size of it and it doesn't fit into the storage space I have when it is off the car. Looks like I will have to sell it - very sad to part with it.

    vibration

This is my first rooftop cargo carrier. I have it fastened on securely, but it bounces alot when empty. I haven't tried it loaded yet. Is the bouncing typical?
