Description

Highways have become battle grounds, so you need to be ready for war when you head out on your road trips and camping excursions. With the Yakima LoadWarrior Cargo Basket as your wingman, you can lock and load a ton of gear on top of your vehicle. It’s capable of holding up to 3 bikes at a time, or 2 kayaks and 1 bike, or even 1 bike and a junior ICBM.

The Yakima LoadWarrior Cargo Basket is built like a tank. Heavy-duty steel bars are welded into place, forming the hull of this cargo-carrying beast. The steel is weather treated to withstand any assault by Mother Nature. And, you get a rugged wind fairing that cuts down on wind whistle, so you can motor around with greater stealth.

It doesn’t take the brains of Military Intelligence to mount your LoadWarrior. The universal attachment system fits easily onto round, square and most factory crossbars. What’s more, Yakima designed your LoadWarrior Cargo Basket for upgrades. You can add length by picking-up the optional extension piece, and keep your gear secure with the locking bracket and cargo net. Lifetime Warranty.

Overall this is an excellent product at a very good price compared to the competition. My only issue is that the wind deflector may not be angled enough.

Installation on my 01 Xterra was easy. Took about an hour from opening the box to complete installation & I'm not that handy. Only used it once so far and it seems bombproof. Maybe I'm just cheap but I think a $150 range would be a more fair price because let's face it, it's a basket. A little disappointed on how my Thule kayak carrier fits, I needed to continuously tighten & it continued to work loose. Not an issue once loaded. Maybe I was spoiled attaching the kayak rack to my oval shape Xterra factory crossbars as it always felt tight unlike the smaller round bars on the basket. Keep inmind that the fairing must be layed down if you attach any kayak or bike rack. I'r seay to lay down but if you keep carriers on all of the time, the firing is useless. I would recommendm as it is everything as advertised.

Just installed on my 2005 Audi A4, with original Yakima rack system. Everything installed good but the brackets for the LoadWarrior Cargo basket seem to be designed more towards factory crossbars which are flat, rather that Yakima's round crossbar system. Although everything holds in place very tight, I wish the brackets were designed to fit the round bars better, or at least the package should come with a second set for a different type of brackets that wil fit round bars better, not just "flat" style. On the other hand, everything is very high quality and it looks like it will last forever. Have not tested it yet with a full load, but I'm sure it will handle the job.

It was very easy to put together. The hardest thing was to adjust to crossbars for the perfect fit. It would be nice to see some bundles in order to same money, like a basket and net or a basket, net and locks. It would also be nice to see a bigger wind shield. Overall, I am very satisfied.

I actually should have ordered the Mega Warrior to fit my vehicle but I have been told by Yakima that the extension will fix my issue. Otherwise, I love the Load warrior on my car!

That extended Yakima Rack looks fabulous on my Tacoma Topper and the assembly was easy although it was an old style and a new style ( different fasteners. ) I did a custom install directly on the capper roof.

It looks great on my 2011 Xterra ProX. Fits great without the extender. It's definitely a two person job to install it. Careful with clearances now! My X is close to 7' now!
