we were amazed at how much space there was, we did also use a protective non-skid pad. Wish it had an optional cardboard edge for inside to make it square.

Light weigh and build for heavy duty, with lots of room amd cam be stored away when not in use. Down to 12 x 14 x 5 inch space. I also have weather tech mats and the fit to my chevy travese is great.

We recently purchased our Weather Tech Rack Sack before taking a trip to Florida. Overall we were very pleased with our purchase which allowed us our main goal of having more dry luggage room inside and a weather resistant cargo carrier on the outside. Towards the last part of the trip we experienced heavy amounts of driven rain and were worried about not having bagged our luggage in the carrier, but when we unloaded our luggage upon arrival there was no water inside of the carrier. I would recommend this product to others in the future as a sound investment.

We have only opened it and attached to our luggage rack to make sure it will work. We have not actually filled it and traveled with it yet as we purchased for an upcoming vacation.

When I received the carrier I was worried that it was not going to be big enough, but it was PLENTY big enough for 5 people to put everything in to be gone for 10 days!! And, we actually had room left over! It holds more that it looks like it will. Very easy to pack and unpack, and I liked that it was easy to store when it was unloaded. The straps on the front made some noise travelling down the highway sometimes, but nothing too bad, and not all the time. I would give this carrier a definite "thumbs up". We did not encounter any rain, so I can't speak to the weatherproof qualities, but the carrier is good quality, so I would assume from our experience that the weatherproofing would work well also.

I finally got to use the carrier for a camping trip with my son. On the day we were leaving for that trip we had some rain and I was tempted to put everything that was going in the carrier in plastic bags to keep it dry. And as I thought about it for a moment I remembered the reviews that I read and didn't use plastic bags. When we arrived 4 1/2 hours later and unpacked and everything was dry.I'm not at all suprised because I also have the Weathertech floor mats and cargo mats for my vehicle and am very satisfied. It's a great product and easy to install, even by yourself.I would definitely recommend it.

We bought this carrier for a trip from the Pittsburgh, PA, area to Myrtle beach for a Toyota 4-Runner. The carrier was easy to install and easy to remove. We did not need any extra straps. It comes with a case and fits back in the case after folding. It did not flap in the wind. On the return trip, we encountered rain and our stored items did get wet. However, we put the kids beach toys, a stroller, etc. in it. Other items were wrapped in plastic garbage bags. I would not put anything that you did not want to get wet inside. All in all, we thought it was a good carrier.

Bought ours on a recommendation from a neighbor who had recently purchased the softroof carrier. We are as satisfied with the unit as he and his wife. It helps to have a step ladder to save your back when loading suitcases (heavier on the bottom) and arranging the luggage within the softroof. Also, the four corners are best used for duffles or other soft containers for filling out smaller space. It rained on the return trip (cloud burst variety) and all stayed dry. Once loaded, tighten down the straps and ensure they are opposed stress one to another, side to side and front to back. No need to overdo...just shimmy to ensure a taut fit. Great unit; easy storage and perfect for 99% of whatever you need to carry out of the vehicle.

We purchased the carrier for a trip to Myrtle Beach. We felt it would be cheaper than gas for another car to make the trip since we were traveling with our son and daughter-in-law and their newborn son. It proved to be a very stable carrier. We were able to pack the pack and play bed along with several pieces of luggage in it. The straps also enabled us to tie down a stroller and small ladder on the side. We did not drive in rain.
