"This carrier installed easily, and held more than I thought. Taking a toddler on vacation requires a little more space. This Thule was just what we needed."

"The quality of the bag is not in doubt. Seems to have all the basics covered but when i put in top of my car it was bigger then my car roof rack. It took some maneuvering to get it to attach properly. Once it was secured it worked well"

"I have a jeep grand cheroke and 2 large dogs and 2 kids so there was no room for stuff when we travel. Bought this carrier for the price and I've used it once so far it was easy to strap to the luggage rails and it worked great!"

"For the price there isn't a better buy for cartop carriers. The price jump between this bag and a hardtop makes this the most useful and economical choice. I used it for a trip from Michigan to Georgia and had no problems."

"I had the bag on the roof of the vehicle during my recent trip to Florida. When I unpacked it all of the bottoms of the luggage as well as the clothing it were wet. I had rained off and on duirng the trip and I thought the materials were water proof/water resistant but I was incorrect. After 2 days the bag dried out, need to wash cloths and 3 days to air out the luggage"

"We are happy with our purchase of the Quest Roof bag. It met and exceeded our expectations. Only problem was the interior lining, i.e. the waterproof coating, didn't take long to start coming off. That's not unusual, but I wish there were a better way of waterproofing nylon fabrics."

"We purchased this roof bag for a trip to NH for a family reunion, we need the extra space in the vehicle. The bag was easy to install easy to pack, I am extremely happy with the overall quality of this bag. You will have to put things you don't want wet in plastic bags as it is not water proof, but for the money it is a good value."

"It showed up right on time, which is good, since I left little margin before our trip. The bag worked great. My wife would have liked some sort of Velcro gizmo to suppress the flapping of the straps. I was able to tie them up for the most part.
I am quite happy with the purchase."

"Very well made. The only problem is if you have fixed racks as I have on the Acura MDX the bag does not fit between the racks and it makes attaching it difficult"

"We purchased the Thule Quest for additional cargo space for our 2002 Honda CRV. We did look at reviews of the bag prior to our purchase so we knew what to expect and the bag met our expectations. We used it for a 860 mile round trip and as other reviewers had mentioned we put everything in plastic. This bag is not water proof. We were lucky enough not to run into any rain. The bag held up well. We have no complaints. If you want a water proof bag you should pay the extra money or purchase a hard carrier."

"The Quest bag is well-made and is surprisingly big for the money. For weekend trips it is ideal for extra carrying capacity on an SUV or other vehicle with a roof rack. It comes with 4 fixing straps but could really do with 8 so you need to use extra ties for a really safe mount. Bear in mind though that this bag is not waterproof so anything permeable needs to be wrapped inside the bag. At speed the bag was silent and didnt appear to flap or dislodge with only the straps ends making any noise so you need to make sure these are fully tied and check them at stops. Recommended - yes if you dont want to go to the expense of a hard carrier."

"Just received it and used it for the first time. Hooked up to the Envoy roof rack system quickly... be sure to tuck extra stapping away or it will flop against roof of truck in wind turbulance. Also sprayed with a silicon waterproofer as this item is not water proof, but water resistent. Would prefer a hard top system, but for the money, this soft side carrier is as good as they get!!!"

"I recently purchased the Thule Quest Roof Bag. After having SUV's for about 10 years with roof rails this is the first time I have used them too transport anything. I am pleased with the quality of the the Quest - heavy material and good zippers and it was easy to install.
I followed the advice of others and put my luggage into trash bags in case of rain. It did not rain but I noted that the trash bags wore small holes caused by 600 miles of vibration. I will double bag in the future. In summary I am pleased with this product."

"This bag is very easy to strap onto the luggage racks. It certainly gave us more room for the luggage. It would be perfect if it were water proof. Or at least water proof on the bottom of the bag because that was the wettest spot. It rained for about an hour on our way home, and the bag was soaked. Luckily, my luggage was semi-water proof."

"Our bag arrived within 3 days of ordering it. We filled it full of wrapped Christmas gifts and drove from North San Diego County to Santa Fe, NM. Not one gift wrap was torn! Needless to say, we are delighted with our Thule Quest Roof Bag!"

"Carrier should be more aeronamically designed. Front creates too much wind resistance and big decrease in fuel economy. No place to secure staps after tightening. Can't draw top staps tight enough if bag is only partially filled."

Excellent for what I needed!

"I purchased this roof bag for my 2002 CR-V. Like the other reviews mentioned, the CR-V crossbars are a little too close together to allow the Quest bag to be fully stretched out. But, it sat nicely in between the crossbars and I packed it accordingly. I knew it was only water resistant and planned to only use it for some outdoor stuff (raft, oars, chairs, etc) that wouldn't matter if they got wet. Well, on the drive out to vacation, it rained lightly and everything was totally dry. One the drive home, it poured for a day and half, and everything inside was soaked. But that was totally expected - and if you plan for it, you will be fine. For the cost and convenience of being able to collapse the bag into a little pouch, the Thule Quest can not be beat for its value!!!"

"We went to Block Island on vacation. I have a Chrysler Pacifica and we had six passengers, so we had almost no inside storage. The Thule bag fit perfectly between the luggage racks, and held a ton. It was so easy to load and unload, and while we were there we kept it off. I couldn't be happier. Furthermore, the AutoAnything website and staff are second to none. It was the most pleasent web-buying experience I've had in years, and they shipped very quickly. I'll be back for more. THANKS!!!"
