"Just received it and used it for the first time. Hooked up to the Envoy roof rack system quickly... be sure to tuck extra stapping away or it will flop against roof of truck in wind turbulance. Also sprayed with a silicon waterproofer as this item is not water proof, but water resistent. Would prefer a hard top system, but for the money, this soft side carrier is as good as they get!!!"

Thule Quest Roof Bag

Posted on 03/28/2007 by Edward F. - 2005 GMC Envoy (Olmsted Twp,OH)

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful.

"I recently purchased the Thule Quest Roof Bag. After having SUV's for about 10 years with roof rails this is the first time I have used them too transport anything. I am pleased with the quality of the the Quest - heavy material and good zippers and it was easy to install. I followed the advice of others and put my luggage into trash bags in case of rain. It did not rain but I noted that the trash bags wore small holes caused by 600 miles of vibration. I will double bag in the future. In summary I am pleased with this product."

Thule roof top bag

Posted on 03/01/2007 by Li L. - 2007 Lexus RX 350 (Roseville,CA)

"This bag is very easy to strap onto the luggage racks. It certainly gave us more room for the luggage. It would be perfect if it were water proof. Or at least water proof on the bottom of the bag because that was the wettest spot. It rained for about an hour on our way home, and the bag was soaked. Luckily, my luggage was semi-water proof."

Not as good as it looks

Posted on 12/06/2006 by Don Z. (Duluth,GA)

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful.

"Carrier should be more aeronamically designed. Front creates too much wind resistance and big decrease in fuel economy. No place to secure staps after tightening. Can't draw top staps tight enough if bag is only partially filled."

"This is a product that is great value for cost. Just make sure to have all items in the bag secured in plastic to avoid them getting wet in rainy conditions."

Excellent for what I needed!

Posted on 08/29/2006 by Jason B. - 2000 Dodge Dakota (Douglas,MA)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful.

"I purchased this roof bag for my 2002 CR-V. Like the other reviews mentioned, the CR-V crossbars are a little too close together to allow the Quest bag to be fully stretched out. But, it sat nicely in between the crossbars and I packed it accordingly. I knew it was only water resistant and planned to only use it for some outdoor stuff (raft, oars, chairs, etc) that wouldn't matter if they got wet. Well, on the drive out to vacation, it rained lightly and everything was totally dry. One the drive home, it poured for a day and half, and everything inside was soaked. But that was totally expected - and if you plan for it, you will be fine. For the cost and convenience of being able to collapse the bag into a little pouch, the Thule Quest can not be beat for its value!!!"

Posted on 08/07/2006 by William C. - 2004 Chrysler Pacifica (Norwalk,CT)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"We went to Block Island on vacation. I have a Chrysler Pacifica and we had six passengers, so we had almost no inside storage. The Thule bag fit perfectly between the luggage racks, and held a ton. It was so easy to load and unload, and while we were there we kept it off. I couldn't be happier. Furthermore, the AutoAnything website and staff are second to none. It was the most pleasent web-buying experience I've had in years, and they shipped very quickly. I'll be back for more. THANKS!!!"

Great utility, great prices, great look!

Posted on 08/06/2006 by Michael R. - 1996 Nissan Maxima (Santa Clara,CA)

"The size fits perfectly between my Thule cross bars, and looks great. The space available was impressive, allowing quite a bit of gear to be placed within the comparment. Material and construction was substantial, providing security that things won't fall out during driving."

Posted on 07/26/2006 by Catherine S. - 2005 Ford Explorer (Fanwood,NJ)

"We used our Thule Quest Roof bag for a week long trip in the Adirondacks and it totally served its purpose and then some. The only problem was that it is not waterproof. We knew that, however, going into our sale and therefore, were not disappointed with our purchase. We put all of our dry bags up in the roof bag so we were not concerned with the rain. Thanks for the great product!"

Thule Quest Bag

Posted on 07/25/2006 by Jay M. - 2006 Chrysler Town and Country (Allentown,PA)

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.

"The bag is very helpful with adding the extra storage. We have 2 small girls and went to the beach for a week, so thie extra storage was great. I do have 2 issues with it though. First, the bag isn't very water tight, not that it was advertised as but it would have been nice. Sencond the plastic buckles are not very strong. The bag needs to be strapped down to the roof rack and if you over tighten, as I did, you run the risk of cracking the buckles, as I did. As I said the bag was very helpful and we intend to continue to use it in our family trips. Overall a good value for the dollar."

Posted on 04/28/2006 by William K. - 2005 Mercury Mountaineer (St Petersburg,FL)

"Quest bag fit perfectly between factory rails. I ordered a second set of straps ($10/set) from Thule to secure to side rails as well. Like others have reported, this model is not designed to be 100% waterproof, so I am using a tarp inside just to be sure that contents stay dry. Great accessory for the price and much easier to store than hard topper."

A good value

Posted on 04/10/2006 by Shan C. - 2004 Acura MDX (Arlington,MA)

"It's a good value for a well-built roof bag. Although it's too long to fit into the space between the cross bars on my Acura MDX, I managed to fit it in by turning it around and fastened it through the side hooks. The manual suggest to just leave the rear end of the bag over the rear cross bar, I haven't tried that but think it should work as well. Overall, it's a nice bag that provides extra space for my camping stuff and can be folded into a small bag when not in use."

"The Thule Quest Roof Bag is a very good value for the cost of the bag. It stores quite a bit and is very easy to load and unload. I haven't had it in the rain yet, so I cannot comment on how it does in wet weather, but I am very happy with it so far."
