"We haven't used it yet, but have fitted and installed in place for use. Attaching to the vehicle was easy. Had a slight problem with one of the hinges, it slipped out of the ball and socket hinge."

"We just used our new carrier. We went on an 8 and half hour trip, through rain. It kept everything safe and dry. It helped us take on of the baby items we now need! I wish it were bigger though...still need more room!"

"Once a year we travel to the Adirondaks to a canoe race and we need to take a lot of equipment and four people in our Subaru Outback. Since this is a once a year trip, I was looking for something that was inexpensive but also functional to help with storage. The Sidekick was just the thing. We did have to drill a set of extra holes in order to make it fit our rack spacing, but that was not too difficult. We could fit a canoe and the Sidekick on our rack and were pleased with all the extra cargo space we had. While putting it together we did make the comment that it seemed rather flimsy, but once it was attached and loaded, it performed very well."

"Received order in several days (faster than advertised). Assembly was a little tricky (you needed at least two people to assemble and directions were not the best). Mounting to vehicle was easy and appearrance was great. Carrier worked great (no water leaks) and actually held more than I thought it would. Would definitely recommend - Good value for money."

"We have a 1 year old and are traveling to a friend's vacation home in Maine this summer. This box is perfect for us to fit the 'extra' items we need, high chair, pack and play, toys, etc. The trunk room is limited in our car, and this is perfect for us. Very pleased with my purchase!!"

"We were able to use our cargo box for the first time in a road trip from Cocoa, FL to Pittsburgh, PA over 4th of July. The box worked very well, except for the fact that it was a little too small for our use. I would like to see about trading it in on a larger model. Other than that, it worked well on the road. The only other issue we had with it was the way the directions read for installation, we found we had to un-do it and read it back-wards as far as hooking the hindges...there was no way we could do it the way the directions read. Overall, we like the product."

"Although the Thule Sidekick Roof Cargo Box is a good value for the money, I thought the plastic would be a bit firmer when I took it out of the package. Once I had on it on the vehicle and had put some items in the cargo box, I realized the plastic did not need to be any firmer than it already was. The only complaint I have is that the cargo box is not aligned straight with the roof line as the bottom loops which go around the roof rack did not align well with the holes on the bottom of the cargo box."

"Assembly was very easy and intuitive. Seems to ride well and carries two sets of golf clubs, as advertised. Kind of a trick to install on car rail. On the hinged side, you have to reach under and push u-bolts up and screw on nuts from a distance. Or start with the hinged side and hang the box over the edge. Probably better with a helper!"

"I bought this cargo box (my first one ever) to store some of my wife's and children's belongings for a recent family trip. This box helped free up some space on the inside of the car, and gave me free access to our stuff during the entire length of the trip. For the price, this box is great, and is a great beginner box for anyone starting to get acquainted with traveling long distances and holding gear. Drove through some heavy rains over the course of my first trip with the box and, for the most part, the box remained dry (there was some minor drip leakage, nothing to ruin my stuff though). I was impressed with its construction. Highly recommended and the price can not be beat."

"I ordered this for roadtrips with my family in my Volvo S60 and bolts up easily on factory roof racks. Just the right size and plenty of room for three medium bags. It also worked great on top of my Jeep Grand Cherokee. The only minus was that one side of the U bolts appeared to be stripped because the Knob would not screw down (A little improvising with a couple of washers worked in the interium). I have an e-mail out to Thule explaining my problem, I will see how it goes. Overall a GREAT price from Autoanything and extremely fast shipping. Will definitely shop at Autoanything again for my auto needs. A+++"

"FYI...this works on a Dodge Grand Caravan, even though the car is not listed as compatible. It worked great on a 16 hour (each way) trip with rain. We fit 2 "bag chairs" and all of our beach/pool gear. It was a great value."

"Lightweight, easy install, ease of assembly make it a reasonable carrier. Good price for size, shopped around could not find at same range. Used for trip held up very in rain and sun and up to 75 mph. No leaks."

"My husband had a bit of trouble putting it together, one of the hinges kept popping apart (and won't stay in) but it's together and we used it on a long weekend trip to Moab, Utah. It held quite a bit and for once, we had some extra space in the vehicle for othe cooler, tc."

"its a great box! the screws have nice handles to easly take it off or put it on and its shape allows for a lot of storage! Im thinking of buying a second one as there is room enough for 2 on my minivan there tall height and somewhat sleek with make this easy!"

"I put the Thule Sidekick on my Jeep Liberty. It went on good, looks great and is just the right size. I needed some extra room to take my 80 yr old father on a road trip and I think this box is going to work just fine. I needed the lid to open from the side because I cannot reach from the bumper over my spare that is mounted on the back door. Overall, I am very happy with the Thule Sidekick! thanks, Lita"

"The Sidekick is actually somewhat smaller than the description makes it sound. Apparently the dimensions given are for rectangular box the Sidekick would fit into. THe Sidekick is more flimsy than some of the more expensive models but I knew that before buying. It still seems to be a good value for the money. Assembly was pretty easy. AutoAnything was superb in their customer service. I ordered the box on Monday, received free shipping, and it was delivered to my front door on Wednesday afternoon. Much faster than I expected!"

"Great box, I mounted it to the top of my huge motorhome so I can store the cover.It beats taking the cover down and back up everytime I cover the motorhome which is always. Its so easy to store it out of the weather on top of the motorhome."

"We just took our first trip with the new Thule Sidekick, about 2k miles round trip. It's not that big. We were able to fit 4 medium sized luggage bags, but that's about it. My wife's bag wouldn't fit so that had to ride in the trunk. I seems a little flimsy. When we got to our destination, I noticed the middle of the carrier was sagging down a little. I don't think I put too much weight in it. All in all, it did what I needed it to do, though I wish it had more room. But, it was the cheapest one I could find so I guess you get what you pay for."
