"I put the Thule Sidekick on my Jeep Liberty. It went on good, looks great and is just the right size. I needed some extra room to take my 80 yr old father on a road trip and I think this box is going to work just fine. I needed the lid to open from the side because I cannot reach from the bumper over my spare that is mounted on the back door. Overall, I am very happy with the Thule Sidekick! thanks, Lita"

"Great box, I mounted it to the top of my huge motorhome so I can store the cover.It beats taking the cover down and back up everytime I cover the motorhome which is always. Its so easy to store it out of the weather on top of the motorhome."

"overall very satisfied with the carrier. It seems to be weather tight. Was concerned that I bought too small, but got 3 medium bags and a few other things in it. Like the way it locks. Pretty easy to assemble."

"We bought this roof box for our annual 12 hour road trips to visit family. It was easy to install-took about an hour. We were able to fit all our Christmas gifts and a pack and play freeing up room in the back for our suitcases and other things we needed to get at during the trip. I recommend it. Great price and does the job."

Small and Efficient

"I bought this to go on the top of a 2007 Tahoe for a long road trip with 5 adult passengers, requiring us to have the third seat up which limits our luggage space. I can get three 22-24 in carry on's in this unit with room for a few smaller packages. It was easy to assemble and fit on the stock Tahoe roof rack with some minor adjustment. The thumb nuts and mounting hardware take up some valuable room inside the cargo box and I think this could be designed a little better. When mounted on the Tahoe, if you mount the box in the center of the roof it is a long reach over the top to get the luggage in or to tighten the mnounting nuts. I plan to use it mounted toward the curd side of the car. The unit is designed so that when the car is moving, air pressure will help force the top down on the bottom making an effective seal. There is Foam weatherstripping between the top and hte bottom to keep the elements out. AutoAnything was good to do business with, They had the lowest prices and free shipping. The goods arrived in just a few days and in good condition. Overall I would consider this product a good value and customer service was very good."

Nice value, but weak front hinge

"Simple to put together, even for 1 person, but I have had the support for the front half of the carrier pop out on me more than once. Luckily, it's possible to open just the back half by itself and still access everything inside."

Good stuff

"We got our order quickly, especially considering we ordered it over a holiday weekend. When it came, we opened the box and found all the pieces we needed and fairly clear instructions to put our box together, so that was nice. It did seem a little flimsy but not overly so. A lot of reviews I read prior to the purchase claimed that the item was flimsy but it's actually rather sturdy. It definitely takes two people to put it together and even with two of us, we had a couple of challenges getting everything lined up correctly. Not a big deal, though! It was easy to put on the rack of our Subaru Outback and it looks sweet! We drove around with it empty on top for about a week and didn't notice any noise from it whatsoever. The only complaint was that it partially blocks our sunroof but that's also not a big deal as we expected that. We'll be travelling with a full load in our Thule tomorrow from Orlando, FL to Ft. Meade, MD so we'll see how it goes but I expect that it will be just fine. We're pretty gosh darn impressed with what we got for the price we paid. Free shipping was a huge motivator to buy from this site and I would recommend not only the product but the website as well."

Great Value

"I ordered the Sidekick on Thursday and it arrived on Monday morning with free shipping! It fits our Mini Cooper perfectly. We just used it on a 1,000 mile trip. Very little wind noise, and only 1-2 mpg reduction in gas mileage (which could be attributable to 4 people and 150 lbs of luggage). I was able to get it to mount to the factory roof rack with the included hardware even though the rails are exceptionally thick (2.5"). We were able to fit 3 fully loaded 24" x 11" x 14" duffel bags plus several winter coats in the sidekick. I would highly recommend this cargo box for smaller cars."
