"We just took our new Thule Terrapin on a 1,600 mile tour in upstate New York. It worked great to store our extra camping gear...this gave us lots of extra room for our boys and 2 golden retrievers in the van. The tarrapin was very easy to install, was easy to swing open to allow us to get into the back of the van (large conversion van), and looked great on the back. We were very happy with our purchase. The delivery time was also wonderful."

"It works very well for us. Love the swinging arm, it allows us to access the back. The locks work well. One note: I plan to make an extra set of keys. I was traveling this week and thought I lost the keys...luckily I found them! I made another set when I got home. I was pleased with how much room was in it."

"The unit arrived on time and in good condition. Installation, even for a non-mechanical person, was very straightforward. While a little cumbersome, one person can do complete installation. The unit served its purpose for our family, as we had two additional passengers in our vehicle for a week-long ski trip, and simply ran out of space to store our belongings. The cargo box has much more room than one might think. Only negative issue is the lenght that the entire unit extends from the back of the vehicle. The additional length makes manuevering difficult in tight parking lots, particularly when backing up."

Terrapin Review

"we like the Terrapin Cargo Box - it's easy to install and it's easy to take off the hitch receiver. It is also easy to use i.e. open, lock, and swing away from the rear bumper. We drove in a very heavy rain and all the cargo in the box stayed dry. Our gas consumption was also unaffected because the box is behind the car as opposed to roof-topped. I am only sorry that the box doesn't sit in a seperate tray in order to use the tray for other cargo and to carry the box around without the swing arm like the Rola brand boxes. Otherwise, it is a great system."

"The Thule Terrapin cargo box is exactly as advertised. Easy to assemble and proved weatherproof on our first roadtrip. Feels a little flimsy but, held up well. Would definitely recommend if you need a little extra space."

"We recently went on a 2800 mile trip. The cargo box was the perfect addition. We have a Dodge Durango and with 2 kids and 3 adults we had to have the 3rd row seat available. Everything fit into the cargo bax and still there was room left over. I even talked to a guy in Vail Co., he wanted to know where I got it. A very handy tool for those with limited room. My only complaint is that the lock sticks a little. Other than that, wonderful."

GOLF CLUB CARRIER

"We needed a cargo box for our golf clubs so we had room foe our Australian Shepherd.It worked out great. The carrier held 2 sets of golf clubs, as well as, a couple of luggage bags and golf shoes. Service was great;very prompt!!!!!"

Terrapin Box

"I drive a Chevy Tahoe that seats 6 people with the 3rd row, which means this doesnt leave alot of space for Luggage when going on extended trips. This Terrapin Box is very useful in these situations, having it, is like having another trunk. Attaching it to the Hitch is fairly easy. Thule supplies all the equipment for a easy easy assembly.I first considered purchasing a roof rack storage, but would seem difficult when trying to load the box, this is why I perfer this box, for eay load and removal."

"Very easy to assemble and put on the vehicle. Very convenient versus a roof rack and the fact that it swings open is great for access to the back of the truck. Could be a little bigger though. I am glad I purchased this product."

"Great box. Very easy to install. Much more convienent then getting up on top of your vehcile to get at things especially sincie I have an Expedition. The box swings easily away from the vehicle for easy access or in my case to let the dog in and out. Lots of storage and having break lights is a plus. It would be nice if their were some kind of combination lock so you didn't always have to have a key although the key is required so the box is not left accidently unlocked to be robbed or perhaps pop open when travelling. I would also include the license plate holder or desing something that would allow the plate to be easily clipped on in those states where it is required. Overall, very happy with the product and would highly recomend it. Also, hats off to AutoAnything who went out of their way to arragne for me top pick the box up mid-way in my travels."
