"this bag was great for holding all the small suit cases and duffels we had for our trip from boston to new york.put it on top of the jeep comander and never had a problem.took it off in new york threw it in the back seat.there were six of us for 4 days = 7 bags"

"Used for a family Thanksgiving trip. Could not believe how much it held. Only drawback was we traveled in a lot of rain and some did get into the bag. Wrapping in plastic probably good idea."

Trip Myrtle Beach, SC in rain

"I love this roof bag. Thirteen hours to Myrtle Beach, SC and it basically rained the whole way. The bag was slightly damp on the inside when we arrived. I'm not entirely sure that it wasn't just condensation. My wife and I highly recommend this product."

good, but not great

"I had a little trouble hooking it up the first time. It was my fault, I over thought about it. It was a lot more simple then I was making it. After that everything was great. We traveled over 800 miles without a problem or a noise. It was awesome, then we hit some rain. Not a torrential downpour, but a steady rain and we were traveling about 75 miles per hour. I figured we were fine. Well I was wrong. many of our bags were wet and since I hadnt made any extra precautions, like putting a tarp over the luggage, some of our clothes were wet. I guess you can't have it all. Next time, I will use the carrier, but I'll put a little extra protection between my bags and the weather."

"We went on a 2 week vacation with this bag. We have 5 in our family, so the bag was expanded to fit 1 large suitcase, 2 duffle bags and 2 sleeping bags. It rained hard on us several times and no wet bags. It is definitely waterproof. On our last day of driving home we experienced high gusty winds and one of the straps broke off. Overall, it seems to be a good bag."

"The bag performed as advertised. It was mounted on my FJ Cruiser. Really easy install. All contents were waterproofed with plastic bags for added peice of mind. We drove through heavy rain from flagstaff, az to albuquerque, nm. There was not a trace of water in the bag once we arrived at our destination. Would recommend using safety pins to secure excess straps once tightened. Great purchase."

"I have not had a chance to use the cargo bag yet. It appears to be sturdily made and waterproof. It is big enough to hold 2 granddaughters, 5'3" ea and a huge round type suitcase and has room left over. I am excited to see how much room there is in this bag. It arrived quickly and is made well."

Returning from college.

"Knowing that my daughter had accumulated alot of things during her first year at college, my husband and I were in a panic over how we would transport all of her things from North Carolina back to New Jersey. We have a SUV but knew that with three adults and all of her belongings this was going to be tough. The Thule 867 Tahoe Roof Cargo Bag saved us!! We were so impressed with its carrying capacity. We were able to fit all of her clothes (we are talking about a girl who loves to shop) in the bag. We traveled over the major highways at an average speed of 70mph and never had a problem with the bag shifting. Her clothes were packed in plastic bags and after going through 2 major rainstorms there was no evidence of any water inside the carrier. It is now tucked away safely in its carry bag awaiting our return trip in August. Excellent product!"
