It's just what it seems. Put it together by myself in under an hour. It would have helped to have an extra set of hands. Bolted together perfectly. I had a buddy weld everything together and removed the bolts to get an extra half inch of cargo room. The day I put it together, I found a similar product at a local retailer for half the price, but was a little leery of trying that out because it seems you get what you pay for these days. No real complaints. Good product. It's exactly as it appears.

A few things to consider: You will need to deduct from the stated dimensions to allow for the encroachment of the bolts into the carrier space. You will NOT have 20" clear. You should not expect to leave the carrier installed full time as I had; after the first rainfall it is showing evidence of rust at the weld locations of the wire mesh to the frame. Exercise care in tightening the bolts. I'm fairly strong, but I've never torqued a bolt to the point where it snapped/sheared clean off as happened to me on one. It will also wobble quite a bit in the receiver hitch. Overall it is OK. I am satisfied with the product

The carrier arrived with some chips and some rust spots. Still waiting for the company to respond for a fix. Seems like a good sturdy carrier, but the spots need to be addressed.

The cargo Carriers is easy to put together, fit perfect on my truck. A little bit heavy but, very good quality, hold my cargo very well. Had to buy some red reflector since it is black and can't be seen clearly at night.
