The PackRight held a ton (5 people and a dog's luggage for a week)! I did buy the waterproof liner - thankfully... as we encountered steady rain for about 3 hours of the trip, and the actual carrier had water in it (seeped through all over, not from the opening), however the waterproof liner kept the contents dry. Closure of the carrier was difficult with the instructions provided, however once it was closed and secured to the roof, the thing did not budge an inch. I felt it was very secure for the 14 hours there and 14 hours back, even with strong winds and rain that were encountered. The installation for the trip back was much smoother. It stores really nicely too in a small bag 1'x 1.5'. Cons: Initial installation, gas mileage (I normally get 16-20, my first tank was 7MPG... but then I averaged about 10-11MPG with the carrier in place when we weren't in the strong wind, sagging middle - it touched between the crossbars of my roof-rack - may use a board next time (that could help with gas mileage too) Pros: plenty of storage (3 suit cases, 2 large duffle bags), secure, weather proof (with liner), flexible and looked nice

although it wasnt what i had expected[ i was thinking zippered product] it performed at or above my expectations. i chose not to use included straps and opted for ratchet straps. although instructions seemed a bit difficult after packing it closed rather well. went through several areas of rain everything kept dry

Love this product. Just got back from vacation and we had a car full (7 people). We packed all our belongings in the PackRight Carrier and did not have to touch it again until our destination seventeen hours later. Because our car did not have luggage racks we had to run the straps through the windows; the straps held the carrier just fine this way. We're already planning our next trip.

I WAS EXPECTING ZIPPERS RATHER THAN ROLL-IN CLOSURE, BUT THE CLOSURE SYSTEM WORKED VERY WELL. THIS IS A VERY STURDY, WEATHER-PROOF CARTOP CARRIER. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
