The rack only took 2 days to be delivered from the time I ordered it, with standard shipping! The rack was everything it was described to be and was easy to assemble. The rack is well built and fit perfectly on my vehicle. If you are considering another more expensive name brand I would forget about it and go with the Rhino Rack. All my friends like it and agree the rhino rack looks bad ass. I would definately buy one for my next vehicle!

Good solid rack but mounting on a Mazda Tribute is a problem. The issue is that the car side rails taper down toward the front which causes in the front aero cross bar to be very close to the hood. This doesn't allow use of the bottom clamp cushion or the long hex bolts in the front because they would strike the hood. I had to remove (not use) the underside cushions on the front crossbar and buy shorter bolts to effect the mount. But it seemed to work and the rack is fine.

Easy to assemble, although instructions are limited to mostly pictures. The rack is easy to maneuver while installing on the roof of car. Took me about 30 minutes. Rack looks good on car and carries items with no issue.

I had a lot of trouble finding a cargo carrier that fit the spacing of the rails on my 1997 Toyota RAV-4. Nothing at local stores worked. But the Rhino-Rack cargo basket has the ability to fit any spacing of rails with their sliding mechanism of attachment. I worried about buying it on line in case it did not work as advertised, but it was perfect. And it looks so good on my car. I highly recommend it.

I'd recommend this to any person looking for a sleek, practical and easy to install roof basket. All I needed was myself as I had it assembled and mounted in under 15 minutes. It's aerodynamic design makes it pretty quiet from inside the car. It easily fits my luggage and anything else that I need. Great buy for the price.

My only complaint is the allen wrenches that must be used to tighten it to the vehicle, It is easy to strip top of screw. Some allen screws are not made to strict tolerences.I would have chosen a different screw that would not strip top of screw more like a bolt.

Hi, You should be able to mount the basket if your factory rack has crossbars.

Hi, Everything is included to attach the basket to your base rack system. All of the nets that we offer are good, the choice between them comes down to what you need the net for.

We have OEM luggage rack (cross rack, I think it's called). The cross rack measures approx 28 in from center of back rack to center of front rack. The cross racks themselves appear to be more of an oval shape. Will the Rhino rack Roof Mounted Cargo Basket be compatible with our vehicle and do all the clamps needed to attach it come with the basket? Jo
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Aug 23, 2012 3:12 PM
Hello Jo. The Rhino Rack measures 47.2" long, which should work with your bars. As for the attachment to the bars, it mounts to Aero-type bars (max bar size 3.5” wide x 1.3” high). If your oval shape bars fall into this specification, then it should work. Thank you for your question.

Is this something we will need a mechanic to do, or is it something we can install on our own? Is it permanently there, or can we remove when we don't need it? Thanks!
Answered by Elizabeth C. — Jun 28, 2012 1:39 PM
Hi Amy, the difficulty depends on how handy you are, but it literally bolts on with 8 fasteners, and there's really only one way to mount it, so chances are you can easily do it. As well, it does come off fairly easily, but it's certainly not designed for quick mount and dismount.

What is an Aero bar? Is it a type of base rack that Rhino sells or do some vehicles come with them factory?
Answered by Michael K. — May 01, 2012 8:22 AM
Hi Daniel, aero bars are aerodynamically shaped crossbars, more flattened out than the round or square bars. Most rack brands make aero bars, including Rhino Rack. As well, many vehicles have aero-shaped bars installed from the factory.
