    Description

Whether you're trekking cross country to visit relatives or heading into the great outdoors for a weekend camping excursion, your vehicle can get mighty cramped mighty quick. Once you pile in your luggage, your cooler and your tents, you're lucky if there's enough room for your kids—let alone your elbows. Pack smarter and drive in complete comfort with the CARPOD Cargo Carrier.

No matter what you need to haul, the versatile CARPOD Carrier can hold it. Its 22" sidewalls fence in your freight, so you can stack up firewood, fishing tackle, and everything else you don't want to cram into your cockpit. Plus, its strapping steel construction can support up to 450 lbs, and the black powder-coat finish keeps your CARPOD protected from rust and corrosion. You can even upgrade with an optional locking lid and a weather-safe bag for added security from thieves and Mother Nature.

Perfect for trucks and SUVs, the CARPOD Cargo Carrier mounts securely into any 2" hitch receiver. It measures in at a spacious 22" tall x 24" wide x 48" long and includes a 90-day warranty.

Our 8+ CARPOD Cargo Carrier customer reviews have an average rating of 4.50 out of 5 stars. To see specific reviews about your vehicle, please select your year, make and model from the drop down above.

    Great cargo carrier

    Reviewed by Bryan H (Crestwood, KY) — May 16, 2013 4:57 AM

I purchased the cargo carrier, lockable lid and cargo Cover/bag. I just used the carrier on a 30 hr long round trip. Very easy to assemble and use. The cargo cover worked very well as we drove through several rainstorms and everything stayed perfectly dry. The cargo carrier easily held 3 - 4 large duffle bags and two carry on sized bags with no problem at all. This freed up a considerable amount of space inside our Chevy Tahoe and made for a more comfortable trip for all of our passengers.

Very sturdy cargo hold - if you need just a little bit more room and have 2" reciever this is the product for you. Add the optional lid to secure your stuff from bandits (two and four legged ones).

    Carrier for comfort

Using the Carpod Cargo Carrier has allowed much more comfortable travel by allowing enough room for people traveling in our van to actually stretch their legs and keep them stretched. The rear carrier has eliminated the need for a car top carrier, which is cumbersome and difficult to use with a full size van. We have also been able to attach 2 children's bicycles to the top of the cargo carrier, further increasing our vacation activities.

The carrier has been everything it was made out to be. We do need the cover and we need a top to lock it when traveling. It gets a little costly when you add it all up.

    Needed more room

Bought this to give use more room when we travel. When you have a large dog taking up the back area of our SUV, we needed room. It's construction is great, but with our hitch being low we had to buy a hitch dual hitch to raise it off the ground. Also bought the bag and rack top to lock up our belongings.

Used the Carrier for a trip from Phoenix,AZ to Newport Beach,CA. Held four suitcases no problem. Easy to set up and fold away. Did not effect handling of our Honda Pilot at all. Ordered the locking lid and travel bag as well, all performed as promised.

Hello Cathy. The Carpod easily attaches and detaches from the hitch mount, so you can take it off whenever it is not being used. Unless you always have cargo to tote (sports equipment etc.), it might be easier to navigate around town without the cargo carrier. Hope that helps!
