I installed this rack in my 1991 Ford Explorer in about an hour and a half by myself. The instructions were sort of vague, but it all came out very well I took my time with the final adjustments so it was lined up perfectly side to side. service was outstanding as it was on my doorstep in about three days from the time I ordered it.

Fits great...everythig I expected

My cherokee goes everywhere....its an 88 Cherokee 4x4 with a 3 inch EMU susp. lift on 31x10.50 Mud Terrains. I bought the rack initially because it was on sale and because I had some extra cash. The rack is easy to put together however i can gurantee problems with mounting it. Honestly..if you have a factory rack on your vehicle just mount the safari rack to your factory rails...the footers that come with the rack are junk. Simply drill directly through the floor of your safari rack and through the rails of your factory system and bolt it down..it wont go anywhere. Also dont waist money on light mount brackets..just bolt your lights straight to the top bar on the rack..it looks great. I mounted 2 hella 500s with 100w bulbs up there and it is mean.

GREAT RACK FOR THE PRICE

I'd checked out a number of racks before settling on this one. In appearance it's great but... - assembling involves slotting 4 'L' shaped pieces together and then securing them with small machine screws into predrilled holes. One of those holes hadn't been predrilled and those machine screws are kind of small; - only has 3 bottom 'slats' as a floor leaving very large gaps, most camping gear will fall through; - it sits very high BUT MOST WORRYINGLY: - the rack mount bars are completely straight but the 4runners roof tracks are slightly canted - as you tighten it up it's trying to pull the roof tracks off the roof

The safari rack that i ordered was for a Land Rover LR3. The customer serice rep told me that it would fit my model & year, and it did, BUT it was difficult and time consuming to install, also the connector pieces could have been made longer. Once installed this rack is not easily removeable, so going through a car wash is a problem. I have a black vehicle that shows everything. The rack is sturdy, but there is give to it, and I thouhgt that it could have been made more solid. I think it's a value purchase for the price & added space that it provides. Shipment was very quick.

Good price for a good rack

The new rack with tire carrier looks great on my lifted cherokee. Not to hard to install but it definitely helps to have two people. I also suggest getting the tire carrier for anyone who wants to improve carrying space in the back of their jeep.
