This cargo carrier is just what I wanted. I'm not at all mechanically inclined, but this was fairly easy to put together myself. You need a ratchet, and possibly some vice grips. The bar the basket sits on was pretty hard to attach, so I definitely won't ever take it off. It's lightweight enough that you can easily carry it, and install it yourself. I have a 1 1/4" in hitch, and it worked well with a 2" extender. I put about 250 lbs on it, and it held up great. I would definitely recommend this!

Although it worked for me.I had to change the length by cutting it off. Then it dragged coming in driveway. Cut it again. And of course had to drill new holes. I found some later for half the money. The big thing was paint poor they must stack them . I put some reflectors on back for couple of dollars. Over all its lite weight 300 LB carrier. I get dirt and mulch. So look around you can find them cheaper. Have a good one.

I ordered this product and received it very fast! Putting it together took two of us. One to hold it together while the other bolted the thing together. (was pretty frustrating trying to do it alone) Quality is excellent for the price. Its the least expensive one that I found and had higher sides (which I like) than some products that are more expensive. I bought a brake light, that I had to do a little customization to make it work, but I feel that it makes us safer.

I purchased the Curt Basket cargo carrier and used it on a recent trip to Montana and it worked great! We were able to optimize the seating capacity by putting all of our luggage on the Curt basket. It performed very well. I would recommend it to anyone.

Got it for transporting my scooter. using a plank of wood as the ramp and four tie downs to keep the bike in place, I hauled it for 130 miles straight and it held strong. Needs a ratchet set to assemble.

I'm impressed with the quality of construction, its design and the ease of assembly. I'm planning a road trip and didn't want the hassle of a roof top carrier (hard to load, wind resistence, etc.). The Curt carriers seems to fit my needs perfectly.

I'm very pleased with the Cart Cargo Carrier based on quality of manufacturing and especially the service I received from the AutoAnything staff. I read a few reviews complaining of scratches, rust and poor packing. Mine came in perfect condition. The carrier was very easy to assemble and fits perfect on my Jeep. It's a great value. One more plug for AutoAnything........great help on the chat line. This is my go to company for anything I need in the automotive area.
