We moved from DC to Pensacola FL and spent three nights on the road. The first day I used only the straps provided and ran them through the back doors. Of course the cargo shifted back a few inches. The rest of the trip I included a cargo strap just for piece of mind. I probably didn't need it but I had it so I used it. This carrier was exactly what I needed and held a good amount of stuff. The one draw back about this carrier is that my mileage dropped 9MPG. Too much wind resistance.

We haven't used it yet but by having it we'll have so much more room to carry stuff on trips and won't have to worry about it getting wet or blown away. I would recommend this product to everyone. I know that we will get years of enjoyment out of it because it is made so sturdy. Can't wait to use it in Nov.when we go see our daughter in Indianapolis,Indiana.

The straps, as mentioned in other reviews, are difficult to assemble. However, they worked very well. We traveled at speeds around 70 mph and had no problems with them holding the carrier. The carrier did move backwards slightly so we had to adjust them once or twice day. (We did not have a rack on the car.) The carrier is waterproof and worked well.

Good size for compact cars. No noise if set back and stuffed. Clips do not fit Chevy cruize. Antislip mat should be duct taped to car to keep in position on long trips.

I have a 2014 Ford Focus ST hatchback. We were going on a road trip to a music festival and needed a little extra space. I don't have roof racks so I needed something that would work on a naked roof. This was the perfect solution. Bigger than I expected, we had trouble filling it. But it held up great. Made a bit of noise on the way down but we packed it better on the way back and there was very little or no noise. Overall an excellent value for the money.

Used this to house some suitcases during a cross-country move. Held up pretty well. Although, after 11 hours of driving, it developed a tear on one of the front corners, which did leak when we drove through wet conditions. This size was listed as compatible with a Buick Encore, but was definitely too big to fit between the roof racks, so a portion of the front and back walls had to be folded underneath.

Ordered this for recent drive from MD to Georgia & back. Seems like tough vinyl and waterproof. Loading is difficult by either filling on ground and then lifting onto car, or loading while on top of car. Also bought the cushion pad & trimmed to size. Pad flapped in the wind above 40 mph unless corners were rolled up. Noisy. When packing away after the trip notice two areas in carrier top that were worn completely through.

... I recommend a rewrite of the instructions, as well as a detailed online video of installing on cars without a rack. Took me an additional 2 hours to figure out how to properly attach 1 strap to another, as the grammar of the instructions are quite confusing. Other than that, GREAT PRODUCT!
