I was very happy with the product. We did not have to do any drilling and it did fit on the frame. We did have to remove the rear bumper but then reinstalled it after installing the rack. I was not sure b/c the photos do not show the attachment to the frame. There is some sound as a result of the rack but who would think that there would be none? I do see how the picture can be misleading. The cargo rack is not included in the rack system but I figured that out from the description.

trying to get this rack and support put on was a pain...had to drill and grind the bumper/frame shell (the part left after removing the bumper) and the holes on the rack to get the back to line up. There were cross bar pads included but only six (needed 8) and the pads for the top door mount were two of the drivers side. after getting it pt together there is a gap between the top support bar and the door frame uptube of about 3mmon the drivers side which detracts from the looks ascetically but the support is still solid. On the basket itself a few of the bars fit loosly and so they rattle...will have to remove again and install some kind of rubber etc to tighten the fit...the clamps to hold the basket on are not properly fitted and have to install at an odd angle to meet up with the cross bars on the support...with some modification the rack will be great and I love the look of it overall, but for the price would have expected it to be a better fit. If I had known all of this before ordering I would have bought a different support rack and basket...

Overall, I am very happy with this rack. Relatively easy installation and quality is good for the price, looks great on the LJ. If I could make a recommendation, upgrade the hardware for the front uprights. Also, silicone in the joints should help keep water/rust out of the bars, possibly keep it quiet. Cons - crossbar knobs require use of supplied Allen wrench and cannot be tightened by hand only.

The quality is great and the appearance is great. The installation requires you to loose the stock ends of your bumper and your rear plate holder. Then you have to make the holes bigger in the roof rack for the stock bumper (not easy. The front crossbar with the roof up (soft top) makes it sound like a class 4 hurricane But I still like it.

I bought this so I could carry my kayaks and bikes with my soft top. I am very pleased with the quality, plus it looks great and it does fit my existing Thule rack system, so I didn't have to buy additional parts. Also, taking down the soft top doesn't require taking the whole assembly apart, which is a big plus.
