Yakima LoadWarrior Cargo Basket Reviews

LoadWarrior Opinion

Reviewed By Peter P (Houston, TX) Reviewed for a 2006 Audi A4 —7/13/2011 7:08 AM

Just installed on my 2005 Audi A4, with original Yakima rack system. Everything installed good but the brackets for the LoadWarrior Cargo basket seem to be designed more towards factory crossbars which are flat, rather that Yakima's round crossbar system. Although everything holds in place very tight, I wish the brackets were designed to fit the round bars better, or at least the package should come with a second set for a different type of brackets that wil fit round bars better, not just "flat" style. On the other hand, everything is very high quality and it looks like it will last forever. Have not tested it yet with a full load, but I'm sure it will handle the job.

Yakima MegaWarrior Cargo Basket Reviews

Easy to Install. Looks great!

Reviewed By Brian W (Sunapee, NH) Reviewed for a 2004 Audi A4 —5/15/2010 1:47 PM

This rack is a great addition to your vehicle for cargo space and appearance. When I first considered this basket, I was concerned that it would be too big for my 99 Jeep Grand Cherokee, especially since there was no review from someone who owned a Jeep. This basket is actually 48" wide, 52" long, and 6.5" height and fits my Jeep PERFECT. I could actually use the Yakima Megawarrior extension. Very easy to install, only took about 30 minutes. I chose this basket over Thule because of the optional accessories of a locking bracket (to prevent theft) and light brackets for aux fog lights. Looks great with my KC long range lights. If you are worried about someone ripping off your basket, I'd get the locking brackets. This basket does come with a wind fairing, but be aware that it still causes some lag. I've lost about 1-2 mpg, although it is not very noisy. The mounting brackets are "universal" and will fit square, round and for Jeep owners, the type of factory crossbars that are wide and thin. Actually, the brackets seemed to fit my factory crossbars better than it would for square ones. So Jeep Grand Cherokee owners, rest at ease, this basket is perfect for you!

Thule Sonic Cargo Box Reviews

Phenomenal Cargo Box

Reviewed By Nathan G (Fayetteville, NC) Reviewed for a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander —1/11/2016 7:28 AM

First - I Love AutoAnything. I always get incredible customer service reps, and I always get a good product, delivered quickly. They have my business for life. Second - Received the Thule Sonic right before a long road trip from NC to IL and back. Couldn't have been happier to have it. Although it feels somewhat flimsy when it is open, it is very sturdy when shut. The grips that hold the box down have built-in tension break, so you don't have to wonder if it's too loose/tight. Once secured it absolutely will not move or slide. We purchased the Medium, and had plenty of space inside. My only concern is that the closing mechanisms don't always line up exactly (probably due to cargo, etc), so a few times I had to work at getting the latch points to line up correctly in order for the lock to engage. If the lock doesn't engage you can't get your key out! Also - in an effort to protect the case during shipping, Thule places 'stick-on' foam padding all around the edges of the cargo box, which is a good thing for the most part. Problem is that if your shipper stores the box on its side, those foam pad will put pressure on the case. Outcome - the left side of our case (around the lock) is slightly bent inward, leaving a slight openeing between the lid at the base. We did get a little water in the case during a hard rain...I'm assuming because of this gap. This wasn't a product defect, rather an outcome of bad shipping probably. That said - once secured to your roof, you'll barely be able to tell it's there, as it has almost no noticeable noise while driving. We had to take our garage door opener off the visor in fear that we'd forget it was up there! Again - phenomenal product, and phenomenal company.
