2 out of the 4 bracket covers have blown off while going 70 on the hwy. They aren't fastened well to the brackets. Just a plastic clip.

This rack is like finding a fixer upper in a high price neighborhood... The unit is made out of steel so in order to prevent rust; all you have to do is a few upgrades and it function/look just a good as the higher priced units... To do so you, just need to replace the screws with #10 stainless and seal the joints where the two halves join together with black automotive RTV type silicone. And you are all set to move in sort of speak....

Solidly built. Size is perfect for my application (or I might have looked at Load Warrior [too big]) I don't understand why the bars angle in, while it looks cool, you lose valuable space I'd like the securing bolts to be a slightly larger diameter. They work fine, but they are a bit on the narrow side. The rack seems very solid and the clamps are very secure. Overall I really like the rack.
