Yakima LoadWarrior Cargo Basket Reviews

Sturdy and well designed.

Reviewed By William G (Homer City, PA) Reviewed for a 2012 Chevy Silverado —4/16/2010 1:44 PM

I purchased the Yakima Load Warrior, plus the 18 inch extension and cargo stretch net after looking into several other brands. The Yakima seems well made, has a durable finish and was easy to assemble- once you study the directions. The basket is certainly big enough to take a lot of bulky gear like sleeping bags, tents and bedrolls, though you have to watch your roof weight limit. I mounted the rack to the Subaru(Monte Blanc) carrier base on my '09 Forester 2.5X with slight difficulty. The crossbars are about an inch too close together for an "ideal" centered mounting in the Yakima brackets, however the brackets are wide and strong enough to get a good purchase once full tightened. Takes 5 minutes to remove and store.

CURT Roof Mounted Cargo Rack Reviews

Curt Rack.

Reviewed By Michael O (Los Gatos, CA) —2/24/2015 11:13 PM

The Curt Roof rack is an excellent design. But, the mounting hardware requires some tooling. The U clamp thread ends need thread chasing. The wing nuts were pass due on cure date as the nylon was harden to the point, that effort was required to turn the wing nut sets to fasten an tighten down to the square rack bar sets. The mounting harden molded cast part that affix and hold the rack to the rack bar sets require the use of a cooping saw to, remove the middle round mount piece.

ROLA Vortex Roof Mounted Cargo Basket Reviews

A little disappointed.

Reviewed By Larry L (LAGUNA BEACH, CA) Reviewed for a 1988 Volkswagen Vanagon —2/9/2015 8:13 AM

The basket looks like it is fairly well built and I like the way the slip joint is protected from water intrusion. The basket I got had a couple of dimples close to the factory bends. This didn't look like a manufacturing problem, but handling problem. This being said, I'm still happy with the purchase.
