Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier Reviews

Road trip

Reviewed By Robert V (Hudson, FL) Reviewed for a 2012 Ford Escape —8/9/2012 5:23 PM

I purchased 2 of the Thule Hull-A-Port and used them for the first time on a 600 mile road trip, no problems. They were easy to install, mine were on a little angle because the crossbars on the factory roof rack on my Ford Escape are on a slight angle. I used all the extra tie downs for this first trip and the kayaks did not move, even with highway speeds of 75 mph. The kayaks were secure enough with just the two straps that I did not use the extra straps for short 6 mile trips to Gulf launch. They performed very well and did what they were designed to do, I'm very satisfied with this purchase. AutoAnything.com had the best price that I could find and they shipped them earlier than promised. Nice job! Thank You!

Thule Hullavator Pro Lift-Assist Kayak Rack Reviews

Great instructions

Reviewed By Robert P (Wilmington, NY) Reviewed for a 2012 Ford Escape —8/1/2012 4:43 AM

The instructions were very easy to follow and well written. I would recommend to do as much assembly on a bench and then on the roof of your car. The Hullavator works as advertised and makes placing the kayaks on the roof very easy. I bought two of these to make life easy and Kayaking more fun.

Rhino-Rack Aero Roof Rack System Reviews

Solid roof rack, carries the most weight, and looks great too.

Reviewed By George K (PANAMA CITY, FL) Reviewed for a 2013 Ford Escape —9/27/2016 5:07 AM

What can I say, I looked at all the other options and brands and this was by far the best and cheapest way to get a solid roof rack on top of my butt naked car roof. 130 lbs weight capability-no one else even comes close. It wasn't bad to install, just my model had different angled rubber mounts that I had to figure which ones go where (re: front or back). But in all fairness Rhino really has a great product with one price, not all this extra nickel and dime stuff added(ie: Locks come included)
