Yakima JayLow Foldable Kayak Rack Reviews

Spectacular Rack!

Reviewed By Nick D (CASSELBERRY, FL) —6/1/2015 2:56 PM

YAKIMA provides excellent quality racks and supplies for those outdoors enthusiasts alike. The rack is super simple to mount to top rails and easy to wrap a kayak in. The only down side I found is that the plastic / rubber grey kayak pad slips off center every now and then make sure to have the kayak completely balanced on both racks. Overall a great product!

Easy and quick transport

Reviewed By Tracie S (FORT WAYNE, IN) Reviewed for a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee —5/14/2015 6:27 AM

I love my new carriers with only one complaint. the thumb nuts securing the carriers to the crossbar keep loosening from the vibration of the vehicle. Not much, but enough that you should check them after every trip to ensure they are tight. Other than that, I love the carriers. Look nice, easy to secure the Kayaks, everything you need is included with the kit, and it is easy to lift the kayaks into the J brackets. Love the freedom of being able to take my Kayak out at a moments notice.

Rhino-Rack J-Style Kayak Carrier Reviews

Works great

Reviewed By robert s (GLENEDEN BEACH, OR) —4/29/2015 11:11 AM

After trying to adapt a Yakima kayak carrier onto our Rhino-Rack aero cross bars without success we finally just bought the rhino rack version. Duh... It clamped right on. Didn't even need instructions. Seemed quite solid. We had to pick up a new kayak 90 miles away. So our first test was to bring it home on the new carrier. Highway speeds all the way home. No problem. Stopped after about 30 miles to double check and adjust straps a little. That was it.
