RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Reviews

Great design and easy to install, locks should be standard.

I did a lot of research before purchasing this rockymount tierod I have. GMC Terrain with factory roof bars, most bike mounts wouldn't fit on the shape bars I have, this tierod was one of a ew that did. The only issue I had was that after installing it on my factory bars the tierod was to long and I couldn't open my tail gate. I installed my bike and just cut off about 4" of the tierod and reinstalled the end cap and now no issues. DON'T FORGET THE LOCKS! Can't leave your bike without them!

Suction cups go on in about 10 seconds each. Easily removed by pulling the tabs on the edge of the cups. My Cannondale mountain bike attached at the front fork and the back wheel was supported by the Velcro loop and suction cup. It feels very solid up there. No noticeable road noise. Took it up to 80 mph and no issues at all. Highly recommend this bike rack to anyone looking for a low cost alternative to rear strap mounts. I didn't want the roof bars because of the cost, bulk, and noise.

This is a terrific rack. It's really simple to operate and holds my road bike as will as my mountain bike with 27.5 wheels and 3.0 fatties with no modifications. It actually comes with strap extenions for fatter tires, so I don't see the advantage to the Brass Knuckles version unless you want a color other than black. It's a little time consuming to mount, so it's not really meant to be taken off and on regularly.
