Thule Hull-A-Port Kayak Carrier Reviews

Easy and quick transport

Reviewed By Tracie S (FORT WAYNE, IN) Reviewed for a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee —5/14/2015 6:27 AM

I love my new carriers with only one complaint. the thumb nuts securing the carriers to the crossbar keep loosening from the vibration of the vehicle. Not much, but enough that you should check them after every trip to ensure they are tight. Other than that, I love the carriers. Look nice, easy to secure the Kayaks, everything you need is included with the kit, and it is easy to lift the kayaks into the J brackets. Love the freedom of being able to take my Kayak out at a moments notice.

Would recommend

Reviewed By Jennifer J (WATERLOO, IL) Reviewed for a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee —6/12/2013 7:51 AM

After having it installed for about a week I would have to say that I would recommend this rack to anyone wanting to transport their kayaks. Installation was simple and it's easy to use. The only downside is having to add tie downs in the front and back if you plan on driving faster than 50 mph. I just added D-shackles to my kayaks to use as anchor points to attach paracord.

Perfect!!!

Reviewed By Thomas D (PERRIS, CA) —3/22/2017 9:05 AM

Bought this for my first kayak and needed for the ability to load 75 lbs kayak by myself. This fits the bill and the ease of use bar none, the best. No tools necessary and without reading directions, I was able to load my kayak and drove 60 highway miles with no problem (very stable). Maybe watch YouTube video on how to load kayak by yourself (it will help).
