Didn't budge

I have a Jeep and I do not have the front and back cross bars on my rack. I used all 4 straps, out of paranoia, 2 straight across and two diagonal front to back on the carrier. I didn't ride more than 70MPH (yet), and the bag didn't budge. I also did not here any noise, only a little louder wind resistance than normal. This is a cool way for me to move my must haves to a new state!

Very glad to have the detailed online installation instructions with close up photos of strap configurations. It still took us awhile to get it right! We didn't find a good way to connect the bottom straps to the car and decided that it was secure enough without them. We've used a rooftop bag without roof rails where the straps come inside and across the ceiling. The rear saddlebag was better than that because there is no wind noise and more aerodynamic
